Oh My Word

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

My old boss just rang me and asked me back to my old job.

DILEMMA.

Did you like your old job?

Will they give you more money?

If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then it's not really a dilemna, Shirley.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Was it a sh*tty job?

Is he going to give you the same useless salary?

Then it's no dilemma either...

I do recall Spidey saying at one time or another that he didn't like his job very much...

Old job:

Not the career I want
A little job satisfaction
Good money
Great people
Miles away
Highly pressured

Current job:

Not the career I want
No job satisfaction
**** money
OK people
Really near
No pressure

How long does it take to travel to the old job?
Can't believe I'm still here.

The same thing happened to me today. :)
I said no because I really like my current job.

But it looks like both your old and new job are not so good. :(
If you don't desperately need the money you should probably say no. Also, you have to decide if the stress and travel will be worth it.

Or start looking for a new and better job?

They did mention I could work from home, but I'd probably get lonely! ;)

I'm thinking of asking to work less hours instead.

That would probably help with the pressure. I can't stand any kind of high-pressure in the workplace, myself.

Working from home kicks ass. My garden is looking lovely.

yeah, but if you just do it for one daya week it really takes the sting out of the travelling.

less hours is also good, altho does that mean less dough?

If I shave off an hour a day shouldn't make much difference. Means I can get home and still have my evening.

It would certainly beat what I'm on now: £6.50 an hour! :o

Going back would only be temporary till I find something better and they know that. I won't have quite the workload I had before either.
