Poor

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Poor

Post by Impactor returns 2.0 » Sat Oct 29, 2005 6:12 pm

In all my life as United supporter I have never seen a display so poor as that - all credit to Boro they played very well.

But as a United supporter when u have so much talent on the pitch that was so bad im disgusted I pay money to watch them.
Ive never seen fergie stop chewing...

I was just wondering how much this little kicking would affect the Mark / Paul dynamic.

Just to make sure I said it first:

IT'S ALL CHELSEA'S FAULT!

The filth were a bit lucky today, still, C.O.Y.S.!

Besty's point about their midfield is right if they could sort that out, whixh probably wouldn't take much much doing, 1 or 2 players max who are first teamers then they would be scarily good again, the defence is shaky, but they have good strikers and a sound keeper. Well played Boro though looked good.

Back to Europe during the week. I hope Man United get back on track against Lille (tricky blighters) on Wednesday. What's the odds of Rangers getting knobbled by Artmedia Bratislava?

Champions League:
Real Betis Vs. Chelsea
Liverpool Vs. Anderlecht
Arsenal Vs. Sparta Prague
Lille Vs. Man United
Artmedia Vs. Rangers

UEFA cup:
Middlesbrough Vs. Dprino (sp?)
Bolton Vs. Zenit St. Petersburg

Besty, I hope I don't sound rude but how does it feel for Middlesbrough to be in Europe?

I think M Ballack would be great for United like yesterday - scholes is really off the boil and as for RIo - im sorry Rio but u get paid £100k a week to defend. if you cant so it [composite word including 'f*ck'] off. his defending was so poor today.

tricky!? They rarely left their own half last time they played you.

not rude. hmm, ok i guess - doesn't really get that exciting until the later strages tbh - i can't really distract myself from the fact that the group stage is a bit of a money making farce.

However on the plus side we get Jon Barnes wicked pundetry.

Lille have been defensively solid against United in the 2002 Champions League and they used the same tactics. That's what I meant.

Back to the Boro Vs. Man Utd game, I cried at the result and cried some more as I read the report. What was the defence thinking in the first half? Fair play to Boro mind for taking their chances.

shocking defending - Edwin could have done better but when not one man closed down mendiata what can u expect.

I think United need 2 midfielders of world class stature, Lampard, gerrard or Rhonaldinho etc... that will cost a bit

If you're going for two midfielders I think they have to be central and one of them has to be a dedicated defensive player, so if Ballack takes over from Scholes on a free that leaves you more money to find a good DCM. Were you not linked strongly to Gattuso in the summer, any truth in that rumour as he's rather good.

Aye we were - and I think he would be a great player if we could pry him away from AC. he even said he would like to play for united.

Him and Ballack in the Mid would be pretty potent.

Defencivly I think they do well most of the time, when a decent Mid protects them. Rio was bloody awfull tho - but we do miss Henzi and Gary. at full strength with two proper midfield players, United could mount a better challange for the title. right now tho the engine room is sorely lacking.

Ballack - cant see him going United, aren't Real sniffing after him?

He is world class though, complete midfielder.

I think real said somthing but im pretty sure United are front runners right now, supposedly they have a gentlemens agreement onit. but thats worth bugger all really.

Even if they did get Ballack they would still need a defensive mid - makale would be nice

Just grab Tobias Linderoth from FC Copenhagen (he played in Everton 03-04).
He's a bargain, and always gets the job done (he's no Makelele, Davids, Gattuso - but he's cheap and very concistent).
(It's like when Tomas Gravesen joined Real Madrid).

Alltough Gattuso and Ballack in United would be cool.
Can't believe I'm still here.

well that was miles better all round, I couldnt belive Alan Smith was actually looking like a top class midfielder considering the company he was keeping on that pitch.
Well they have to play like that ever week now. but better overall...
