Drunk at Work

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Drunk at Work

Feel bad man.

How long can I keep up the charade?

No one's cottoned on yet.

Drunk already? Or just a hangover?

Drink lots of water! And eat fruit and eggs.

If you're really drunk, stick a finger in your throat and throw up. Not pleasant, but it will get some alcohol out of the body.

Take care.

Already thrown up. At work. Hopefully no one heard.

Only had a few hours sleep, so more drunk than hungover.

Fruit and eggs? Hmm. Can't get any. What shall I have for breakfast? Sandwich van gets here soon...

Isn't there a risk you'll throw up again if you start eating alot?

I'd just drink a lot of water.
And I'd stay still as much as I could :D

No coffee!! Herbal tea, water or fruit juice.
Cola could help a bit, not sure.
But water is the best remedy.

Get yourself something healthy for breakfast, like a boiled egg and veggie sandwich. Maybe with a slice of cheese (not sure if meat is good, I don't really eat that). You need something in the stomach, but not too much fatty stuff.

Usually I'd recommend a fry-up, but you can't get away with that at work. :(

Sandwich van's a good idea. Bread'll help soak up any alcohol in your stomach and theoretically stop anything from coming back up.

Bacon and egg would be my choice. Hot, preferably. Yum. Trust me, it'll make you feel human.

Dammit. Now I'm hungry...

[EDIT] - Eline - meat is indeed good. Protein and salt.
Drinkwise, I'd say Lucozade. It's basically liquid sugar, but in a healthy way. Seriously, it'll do a world of good.

You should've brought beer to work and just kept on going.

Maybe Brendocon can bring you a bottle of Jägermeister or something? :p

What kind of work do you do?

Do you have a headache? If so, get some paracetamol-like pills.

What is ribena? If it's a fruit-flavoured sugar-drink, maybe not. But then again, if you think it'll make you feel better...

Too late!

Also bought an egg and cress sandwich.

I think its the first time in my life that I've ever bought an egg and cress sandwich.

I've been drunk at work before. But not for a long time. And on those occasions either everyone else has been drunk too (after a work do) or I've just not turned up.

I'm generally of the opinion that you should never go out and get mullered on a 'school night'.

:)

Those are yummy. It was one of the first things I had on my first visit to UK/Ireland, and there were really good.
Even went to M&S in the Netherlands after that, to buy them. But they tasted not as nice. Of course.

Yeah, drinking in the middle of the week is not a good idea. I once went to classes while I was still rather drunk than hungovered. Fortunately, my stomach was okay, I only staggered a bit. But one of my firends didn't make it that day, because he throwed up in the morning and was really afraid he would have to do it again in the middle of the class.

Y'see, I see no reason why just because I'm bladdered my spelling/grammar should go out the window! ;) Thats what the delete key is for!

Hard work tho.

Thing is, if my job required one iota of brain power I wouldn't have dreamt of doing this. Sad state of affairs really.

I think der2 would argue with you on that.

There's a few at The Hub, too.

Never knowingly encountered a French Transfan, though.

Yes, we are. :swirly:

But if you are temping, surely it's not advisable to be drunk (and board-posting) if they can kick you out whenever they want?
