Hampshire-what do you think of it?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Well, I think I've left an important part of my brain somewhere, somewhere in a field there...

It's great, if you ignore Portsmouth.

Really nice and picturesque, full of friendly people, trees and rampant consumerism.

And boats. Boats are good.

Just ignore Portsmouth.

Hampshire = good.

Bournemouth is probably a lot lovelier, though. Bournemouth is great. But Hampshire ceded control of Bournemouth to Dorset in the great... uhm... south coast border war of... whenever it was.

Portsmouth is rubbish, though.
Grrr. Argh.

I've been to Havant. Thats hampshire isn't it? Very nice if you like suburbia.....

It's near the Ise of Wight, which is nice.....if you like nice.

Portsmouth was very expensive last time I was there (about 10 years ago - I remeber doing a double-take and sounding like my dad when I was told the price of an alcoholic beverage). Thats my abiding memory, which makes me think it wasn't the most inspiring of places....

I don't venture down south very often. Can you tell? :)
