I'm going to court! woo hoo

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I'm going to court! woo hoo

To cut a fairly long story short..

We employed an American lady at work about a year ago. Despite obsecene amounts of training she never grasped the work we did. 7 months later she still hadn't passed her 3 month probationary period (no one has ever not passed) ,so she was sacked.

She is now suing the company for unfair dismissal and has named me as one of several people who racially abused her because of her American acccent.

What really winds me up is that fact that I supported her as much as I possibly could during her time with us, and I was never anything but nice. She was saying before she got sacked that she was going to take the company down if they got rid of her, and now she is using me as a pawn in her scheme. Backstabbing bitch.

sounds open shut to me.

what a kent.

You're line in court should be "We did not take the piss out of her because of her accent...

...we did it because she is stupider than making chainsaws for dogs"

She is entitled to live here as she met some postman through the internet and married him!

This was after she divorced her millionaire husband after she was kidnapped and held hostage by terrorists.

I'm not making this up! She was clearly loopy.

With that generalization, you're...pretty on the mark. The amount of crazy lawsuits filed in this country should keep Compy living high for the next couple decades.

Sure he will. American women are whores for money. Thanks to Paris and Nicole, it's become "in" to put out with guys just because they've got money!

How many (insert nationality) does it take to change a light bulb?

American: "I'm gonna do it myself, and I didn't need you fancy-talkin' funny boys in the first place!"

British: "Change it? Bloody thing's worked just fine for the last thousand years!"

It may be a sweeping generalization, but she is indeed a cow and it is, unfortunately, a very American way of thinking.

-J

Japanese: "We have invented a super-lightbulb, never needs to be changed!"

South Koreans: "We invented it first!"

Chinese: "You obviously got the idea from us."

North Koreans: "You have electricity?"
(Just got back from Iraq. Yes, it sucked. Exterminatus recommended.)

Dumb jokes aside, It's not just Americans. Most people are assholes in some fashion.

Sorry to hear about that though... that's just low of her, right there.

I think that pretty much somes it up by the sounds of what you say. Good luck mate, i hope things work out ok and aren't too much hassle. With any luck it'll get thrown out of court, or she might get charged with wasting court's time.

I just hate peoople who never think that it's their fault and have to find blame in somebody else for their own [composite word including 'f*ck'] ups.

Are you thinking of that "South Park" with Paris Hilton and her "Stupid Spoiled Whore" store... and the whore-off with Mr. Slave at the end?

Coz if you're not, you should be.

Scotland: I've got to have a few drinks before I try anything as complex as a lightbulb.

Definately. The sad part is that South Park is a pretty good representation of what goes on in the US on a day-to-day basis.

i'd like to call claim's direct but i'm too busy ringing Ocean Finance to reorganise all my debts into one consolidated loan, whilst somehow also borrowing extra money to go on holiday and buy a new kitchen.

it makes sense!

Going off topic slightly (sorry), does anyone know anyone that's ever actually used anything like Claims Direct? Am thinking of sueing work after my fall and resulting concussion last week.

I have a friend who works as a lawyer for one of these companies - I could pass on his details if you're interested.

great news! :)
the reality of the situation must have dawned on her! ;)

on a side note: am still considering my own legal action, my main concern is that we, as a company, are in a real low situation at the moment, me getting them to fork out cash could be the end of it...
