Simon Furman.
The line starts to the right, yes?
Linkage! http://www.silverbulletcomics.com/news/story.php?a=775
Be warned tho.. since the page at Silverbulletcomics contains not just this, but mucho other Marvel-news it has apparently overloaded, yes?
Great difficulty to load page, insufferable amount of time, yes?
Like something took it out, fast and hard, yes?
Here's the relevant text:
"Amazing Fantasy will introduce new characters, including the new Death's Head 3.0 by original creator Simon Furman (#16-20). Each issue will have 22 pages, plus an added 8 page backup story."
The pencil-artist? Doesn't mention at all, so who knows? Joe Quesada knows.

While I think this is GREAT news (looks like I'll be picking up Amazing Fantasy soon), I wonder what the point of having the original writer doing a complete revamp is? Surely if they wanted to get some freshness into a dead and buried character, they'd get someone new. Ah well. WOO! FURMAN!!!

Aye. Ti's only logical. The reason me didn't put it in there, was cause I checked what it says under news. Transformers news, looked emphatised to me mind, so I's put it in general.Best First wrote:Anyway, me thinks this hsould be News forum fodder.
Good find sir! So Raiz on art eh? Sweetness. He's one of me favorites from ye ol' DW. I'd say he was second in me eyes, only to da Don.
EDIT: @#&$! That page messes up my beautiful Firefox-based Netscape8 royally, causing it to slow-down and crash. I'm viewing it from bloody IE nows, working correctly. Why be that site both evil and good at the same time?

Before or after?MARVEL NEXT IN TROUBLE?
[Yellow Light] Amongst the recent sales estimates of comic books, there's one line that seems to be suffering the Tsunami-style brunt - that of the "Marvel Next" books. "Amazing Fantasy" crashed from 24000 for issue 6, the last with Arana, to 12.7k on 11, the second to last Scorpion issue. "Machine Teen" crashed from 16k to 6k in four issues. "Spellbinders" and "Livewires" have had similar patterns. And the expectations of trades, even in digest sizes, are not stellar. Almost like those titles Bill Jemas used to hype up, that would then fall flat on their mainstream faces after a few issues.
Shame, because there was some nice stuff in there. But I understand from people close to the company, that Marvel will soon be saying "Next!"
I was expecting AF to be cancelled after the DH story. I was figuring on that being the swansong.
Of course, before the DH promo surfaced I was expecting it to be cancelled after #15...
Unless any more goss comes out, I'm still going with the DH revamp coming out.
Unless they just go 'screw it' and drop it after #15, but the DH run's already been solicited and publicised.
Spellbinders and Livewires were both intentional limited series, that reached completion with lower sales figures.

It needs to limp onto #15, which will presumably get a marked artifical boost due to the Spidey connection, and then I guess they hope the DH revamp will bring in enough readers to keep it worth going until the completion of that story, and the resultant nice set of TPBs.152. AMAZING FANTASY

Crashing ever downwards. Marvel apparently want to keep this book
around as a venue for trying out new characters, which is laudable, but
they really need to do something to attract readers to it.

Jun 05 Spellbinders #4 (of 6) - 10,189 (-15.6%)
Jul 05 Spellbinders #5 (of 6) - 9,050 (-11.2%)
Aug 05 Spellbinders #6 (of 6) - 8,578 ( -5.2%)
Two miniseries which completely tanked in the direct market - hardly
surprising considering that they were barely publicised. But, repeat
after me, "there's always the digest."

BoooH! I've liked everything from AF, except Arana, wich I found rather mediocre. Cancel all the other titles! But spare this one! (wait, wich imprint is Runaways published under? )
Even without DH3 there's some stuff I look forward to checking out in AF, I really hope it'll stay for atleast a 30-issue run.

Gut-wrenching disappointment as the comics are cancelled or discontinued is part of the experience that us DH fans crave, isn't it? And as we've all grown so used to it, there no thrill anymore. This means that Marvel have gone the extra step to satisfy the need: 'Oh yeah, a new DH comic written by Furman. But you wont buy it will you? Meh, Cancelled'
manged to beat DHII Gold - quite immpressive.
Its very good of them really.........if he's got time, perhaps Stan Lee could pop round and kick us all in the bollocks as well.

A little bump as I just found some upcoming cover images I thought some people might like to see

And of course there's the Newsarama interview with Furman, which I seem to recall KingMob posting, but that may have been over in General...
