Motivate me

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Motivate me

Post by Hound » Mon Sep 19, 2005 6:05 pm

I am running the Nike 10k again next month, and I am currently making a play list of songs for my ipod shuffle to keep me motivted whilst running.

My playlist, in no particular order, so far is :

Guiding Light - The Veils
Side - Travis
Into The Fire - Thirteen Senses
Dakota Stereophonics
Music Was Saved - Starsailor
Dare - Stan Bush
Things I Don't Understand - Coldplay
Talk - Coldplay
Get Your Hands Off My Woman - The Darkness
Blood - Editors
The Futureheads - Decent Days And Nights
Why Do You Love Me-Garbage
Fighting Fit - Gene
Hard To Beat - Hard-Fi
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
To The End Of The Earth - Keane
Burn, Burn - Lostprophets
Forever Lost - The Magic Numbers
Australia - Manic Street Preachers
Forever More - Moloko

So the challenge is, make me an alternative playlist to help me through the run :D It needs to be fast paced, and no more than an hour long. Go go go!

Hmmm...if it's motivational, surely there's got be some room made for 'Eye of the Tiger' by Survivor?

Best of luck mate. :)

Might I suggest less indie guitar music and more thudding pounding hardcore techno?

No?

Fair enough :(

Totally.

The idea of running to Coldpay is just wrong.

Unless you position your heardphones so it feels as if you are running from Coldplay, that might work.

Get some Prodigy and Chuckle Brothers in there.

Oh, and if you have Radio Sunnydale, listen to the score from the final episode before you run. Grr.

The Killers

and...

The Spider-Man movie theme tune! Makes me feel all heroic, like.

I've a soft spot for Basil Poulderis (sp?) who does all the Paul Verhoeven movies - Total Recall, Robocop and Starship Troopers all have great orchestral soundtracks.

I have a few for ya. :)

Queen - Flash Aaaah!

AC/DC - The Razors Edge

Paul Engemann - Push it to the limit (scarface soundtrack)

Now, that last one, is exactly what you need. It's also been utilised as one of the thunes in GTA3.

Isn't all the 'official' music from GTA3 from the Scarface soundtrack? I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that's the case.

Eighthed.

What? I'm enough people to eighth something...

Chems, Plumps, Pendulum, Overseer, Mylo [not the ******* awful Miami Sound Machine mash-up, though]

If you want indie stuff, uhm...

The Music
The first BRMC album

... that's all I got for the moment. I'll be back later if I remember...
Grrr. Argh.

My favorite Chili Peppers song was always Aeroplane-- I have to love the song that they'll never play live again.

I suggest:

Just - Radiohead
Aeroplane - Peppers
All My Life - Foo Fighters
All of Colour and the Shape
All of In Utero

Try some Thrice. Emvee can vouch for me. Check out "The Artist and the Ambulance," and "The Illusion of Safety."

You're absolutely right-I checked the IMDb, and all the Scarface tunes are on Flashback FM. 10 points to the Spidey-man. :)
