FF7 Advent Children

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I read, on this board, that the world ended/got blown up/seazed to exist/whatever, at the end of Final Fantasy VII (the game) ?
But this movie is set two years after FFVII?
Heh?
Can't believe I'm still here.

the life stream... the movie does a good job of tieing up the loose ends whilst looks fantastic and being good fun. If you are a FF fan this film is a must-see. if you like CGI then this is a Must-see. if you enjoy a bit of random JPN story telling, you should check it out.

I watched it last night and quite enjoyed it. Not quite as much as i was hoping i was going to, but it was pretty damn cool!

Absolutely stunning to look it, and i don't just mean Tifa! ;)

I got it for my sisters (theyll have the DVD too when its released in the US) the animation truly is stunning. I only watched the first 15 minutes but I thought the story was gripping. Subbing was naff but that'll improve for the US release.

and to hell with tifa, cloud is hot! :D

I just finished it. This, in and of itself, is strange as I've been distributing the movie like mad to my friends and well-wishers (all of whom will buy it upon its domestic release).

I honestly don't think they could have done a better job with that movie. Perhaps if it took place over more than a couple hours (the game took place over, what, months?), it would have seemed more epic, but that's a totally minor complaint.

The Matrix-esque stuff was a bit much, but in the context of the game-movie, it worked quite well.

To be honest I thought they did hte matrix esque stuff better then the Matrix sequals...

I really enjoyed it, sure its not rocket science, but bits of it did touch my heart, the action sequences are stunning, the story is nice enough to follow from the game.

Its more then I expected, the animation is fault-less and is a technicall marvel. I could watch this stuff all day.

I want a sequal to FF7!!!

Don't forget the motorcycle fights they one-upped from Mission Impossible 2.

And did anyone else see the bit with everyone catapulting Cloud upwards and think Nanaca Crash?

no (mind you, i'm not familiar with Nanaca Crash)...

actually, i was thinking "How did they get that high in the first place in order to catapault him higher? and how are they going to get back down safely?"

but then when Cloud laid the smack down on Bahamut it dawned on me that it was an animated film based on a video game and that belief should be suspended a tad more than usual. ;)

Not literally, but one character in the game posed the question "Will human beings continue to exist, or be removed from earth?" The game ending left that question open and has been nearly a violent discussion off and on ever since.

I'm from the side that thinks humans get wiped out, but that it happened gradually. Advent children does its best to please both arguments actually...

Those of you who made use of a .srt file to view this movie with subtitles might want to check this out.

http://www.horsemenpaintball.com/images ... id-ff7.srt

Back up the Jasconius version, replace it with this one, anf you're set.
