If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Diaclone DVD at Wal*Mart???
Post
by Ikijigoku » Wed Sep 14, 2005 4:00 pm
I didn't know that Takara made a movie based on the Diaclones. I found a DVD at Wal*Mart of an old Japanese robot DVD. I turned it around to read the copy on the back and I saw a picture of Inferno (pre-Transformer) on the back. This anime looks like it could be late 70's, early 80's.

Hrm. Just because there are TFs on the sleeve doesn't mean they're in it.
There was one cartoon... Uhm, Star Vengers or something, I dunno - the videos always used to have pics of TFs on the sleeves.
Grrr. Argh.

Our hungarian edition of the TF Movie had pics of GI Joe Movie on the backer and the DVD itself... Weird things, yes...

You know, at the cost of only 1 dollar, this might be worth buying.

Found it at my wal*mart today too. It was in the toy department near the video now stuff. It titled "Defenders of space" and looks very much like peiced together parts of older animes (wont know for sure till I open it up and watch it) I found three other DVD's of similar design, but no other appear to have diaclones or TFs in them, but three out of four seem to have giant robots. The others were called"Protectors of Universe" "Space Thunder Kids" and "Beauty and Warrior"
Gotta love Engrish.

Cool pics. Seems better animation then most of Season 3...

That eagle on Inferno is weird, though. Did the Diaclone one had such a sticker?

After 3 tries. I finally pried the DVD out of the package without breaking it. The DVD's quality is cheap. I watched it and it wasn't that annoying. I guess if you've seen the Headmaster dubs, it makes watching it less painful. Inferno looks kind of cool. It has kind of an early Gundam-Robotech feel to it. The story stinks, it's just cool seeing a bootleg Inferno act like a Gundam.
