England - Wales

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

yep.

couldn't believe when he took SWP off. Cole should have gone and we should have shifted to 4-4-2.

Anybody else think Hargreaves should have had five extra minutes to finish doing his hair before they let him come on?

No, but I do think he shouldn`t be allowed to play because of terminal crapness.
Logic dictates there is no place for such emotionalism in a Decepticon commander. Nor is there room for incompetence.

what i don't understand about Hargreave is why he brigs him on - he never plays him consistently, he doesn't have much potential to do something special (unlike, say Cole, who i could see why you would consider chucking on when things are going badly).

If he used him as the holding player (as he now plays for BM) then it might make some sense as we need someone in this position, but he just throws him on at random in every game. Its like Sven is mates with his dad or something.

It was Kevin Keegan, who is perhaps the most overhyped manager in the history of football.

His tactics were awful, he played Sol Campbell at right back just because he wasn't prepared to actually risk somebody new in the position. His approach to tactics consisted of "CHARGE!!!!"

Sven may be boring, but we do have a habit of winning games when they actually count. Boring 1-0 losses vs exhilarating 4-3 defeats? I'll take the former.

I noticed the other day that my FM2005 tactics seem to be very Keeganesque. I won 5-3 at West Brom recently. And I was playing 4-5-1 for most of the game. But that's okay. I'm top of the league (with Saints) with 25 games gone in season 3. And yes, I do mean the Premiership. I ******* rock!

Interesting sidebar - how come Venebles ahd toleave because of conduct outside of his job but Sven can knocking the back out of both Ulrika and an FA employee and remain in a job?

I'm not neccs saying Sven should have been sacked, but why teh double standard?

it was some wacky assed version of Christianity, that seemed to incorporate Karma, which given that if you are a Christian you believe Jesus died for your sins, makes no actual sense.

ha ha!

My understanding of the situation at the time was that Hoddle was only speaking metaphorically. He didn't actually say he believed those things, only that certain people could argue them.

In retrospect, he would have been best placed just keeping quiet. Especially as England haven't played anywhere near as well since he left as when he was in charge. He may be a godawful man manager with dodgy views, but tactically he's tight.

Hypothetically. In some peoples' opinions.

I think Sven will leave after the World Cup, leaving McClaren to finally take his rightful place as manager. I think we`ll do well under him, and he certainly has the player`s respect.

Wont sacking Sven cost like a gazillion pounds?
And at the same time hiring a new manager = a lot of money floating around ?
Can't believe I'm still here.
