This one reminds me of my cat.
Though my cat has never sat in the sink, as far as I can remember anyway... Place a piece of paper on the floor however, and she'll curl up on top of it as soon as she finds it. Same goes for small cardboard trays... she just waltzes right on up to the thing, sits, tucks her front paws underneath herself and sits there, looking at you like her odd habit is your fault.

Because a few **** in your flowerbed? I don't get that sort of attitude sometimes, I really don't. And it annoys the [composite word including 'f*ck'] out of me when people have a problem with one aspect of something but take it out on/blame the whole.
I dislike most small yappy dogs. Yet I now work with them almost every morning and I only dislike a couple of the individuals I do know (mainly because they are, surprise surprise, exactly what I dislike about small yappy dogs... yappy. Endlessly yappy.) Not all are yappy annoying little ankle biters, and some of them are actually quite adorable.
(But I still feel like I may break one if I try a tug-of-war with a rope toy, or if they jump out of my arms or something. Especially the mini-pinschers. They have amazingly spindly little deer-legs.

Why not get angry with the cat's owners for not controlling their animal?
If the cats are strays, then take measures to keep the buggers out of your garden. Most cats dislike citrus. There's probably also types of plants you can grow that will help to keep them out of your space, there's probably a swakload of other stuff too but I don't have a cat problem so I'm not about to go looking.
And don't go "Ohhh, that's too much work to put up with for other people's animals!" You're the one that's bitching about it, if you want a solution then look for one. Call the SPCA/animal organization or something and talk to them about it if finding things out on your own is too much work for you. Hell, dump the cats on them, even.
I hate it when people go the "environmental" route whenever they have a problem with animals. "Ooh I hate them, blah blah blah... Oh, and they're damaging the environment. We all know damaging the environment is bad!". But I'll bet a good percentage of those same people don't think twice when they get into their vehicles and drive to work, turn on a light, use the toilet or take their trash to the bin.
Humans tend to be far nastier in some aspects and are definitely more wildlife-exterminating than cats ever could be. Cats, like rats, cockroaches, dogs, rabbits and other assorted animals were just given an oppertunity to expand. Use that large human brain of yours to figure out how to co-exist/find a way to work the problem in a more positive direction.
because they really do **** where they please.
That's because most animals don't view **** the same way people do.
Older dogs left to their own in the home area tend to visit the same area when they need to use the toilet. My family has had up to 8 dogs at one time staying at our house and we've only ever had to clean 2-3 areas around our house. Puppies are like kids... At first they don't know a thing. Later, they can't always "hold it", but they learn.
Once they're away from home dogs will **** almost anywhere, yeah. Preference for areas where other dogs have gone before, though. Cats will do the same thing once in awhile... I've heard of cats that really did just take a dump wherever they pleased without bothering to take the "normal" cat care. And if you don't get a tom fixed, they spray. Hell, even then there's no guarantee they won't take it up at some point.
I've always found that
really disgusting, personally. Animal piss, I mean. Solid waste, it's easy to see, usually easy to clean and the smell is usually gone once it's gone. Piss is another story completely. When an animal takes a piss it goes everywhere, accidently sitting in it is more of a possibility and if you don't clean it up immeadiately and/or with special cleaners then there's more of a likelihood of that area becoming a frequently-visited spot.

... um. The kitten pictures are really cute, have I mentioned?
