Buffy and Angel Graphic Novel's/comics

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I bought the first two issues of the current Angel series, but they bored me. :(

I tend to regard that sort of stuff with great suspicion, as in most cases it's glorified fanfic. And 90% of fanfic is utter wank fantasy delusional blah.

I remember reading an extract of one of the novels on the BBC website, Apocalypse Memories or something? Seemed quite nice, but then anything can seem decent when just presented as an extract.

This post is a waste of bandwidth really, isn't it?

Astonishing X-Men is quite fantastic. The Serenity comic is nifty and the movie is only a couple of months off now. That's my Whedon fix sorted, y'all.
Grrr. Argh.

The Buffy comcis are horrible. Very bland and poorly done. Avoid them liek the plague.

We sell the Buffy books at work. Feedback is largely negative.

This is kinda OT, but if you aren't already reading it, RUNAWAYS might be a comic worth checking out. Joss Whedon is a big fan, and it's a freaking awesome comic book.
Bunch of kids (aged 13-17) find out their parents are supervillians and run away from home. BK Vaughn writes it. It rules.

It's somewhat Buffyesque.

Art in the older Buffy stuff looks very little like the characters. Not sure if there even is any more recent stuff... what I've got is French reprints. Eminently missable.
