Went to fiddle with my Energon Ironhide earlier today, and the left shoulder flap fell off! Upon further inspection, the plastic that held the shoulder flaps on somehow became brittle, flaking off the toy at a touch. I know he wasn't the best TF, but I'm totally bummed that he fell apart. I'll probably snag another one (they're way cheap around here), but I just had to rant.

I had that with Brawl. Then again, he had been standing on a shelf directly above a hot radiator for six years. Can plastic be dried out to such an extent that it crumbles?
Perhaps it's a Special Teams thing.

Well the most "self destroyable" Tf I ever known is G2 Slingshot. Its better to not take him out of its package (Production error crap!)

He had pretty weedy arm connections too, didn't he? I think his arm came off once for me. Not that I asked him to do it.
Any more duff-quality Special Team stories?
And have you got a replacement E Ironhide yet, Neo?

Haven't replaced him yet, no. Funds are a bit scarce at the moment. I think I can get a good price on the Superlink version online, but when the money comes it's a question of do I want to replace Energon Ironhide or get new Galaxy Force stuff? And there's an Energon Galvatron at a local KMart that I've been eyeing...

The answer is simple: dump all thoughts of getting a new E Ironhide for the moment, and pick up the Galvy or Galaxy Force stuff. If you happen upon a cheap Ironhide later (considering how many litter the shelves, that won't be a problem) then buy it at the reduced price.
You know it makes sense.

Wise choice - the GF stuff will be around for a while, whereas E Galvatron will be off the shelves soon to make way for GF.

Finally had the cash-ola to spare, so I snagged an E Galvy. See the "Haul-a-rama" thread for thoughts.
