Cinescape scooper "morethanmeetstheeye" reports that TRANSFORMERS' producer Don Murphy has been providing some tidbits on the current progress of the film.
Here is a summary of the comments from our scooper:
According to Angry Films topper Don Murphy, via his personal message board, "The Transformers" film adaptation is in trouble because of the weak box office opening of Michael Bay's "The Island."
Murphy claims that Bay is not totally committed to the adaptation and may pull out entirely--thus fueling fears that the producer(s) will not find another top-tier candidate to replace the director. The producer ruled out stellar candidates such as James Cameron and Bryan Singer because of conflicting productions, labeled others, namely Paul Verhoeven and Renny Harlin, as less than worthy, and apparently refused to consider re-approaching Robert Zemeckis.
Additionally, Murphy directly states that there is "no" Transformers script as the screenwriters, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, are currently engaged, according to Murphy, in the writing of "Mission WhoCares3."
On his board, the producer of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" and "From Hell" implies that fellow producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, was brought onto the project by Paramount Pictures, and that the two do not see eye to eye on the script (or non-script) or casting the voices.
This prompted the following response from Don Murphy via his board here...

Dear Sirs,
It is now 10:12 ,two hours since my initial emails and phone calls.
The article http://www.cinesxxxxxxx
is still on your site. It is an inaccurate and warped and twisted version of what I was trying to state to the fans yesterday. It was done by someone with ill intent either for me or my film.
Thanks to your article and your refusal to remove it I will no longer post on my message board. All Transformers fans will know it is thanks to the shoddy journalism at your magazine.
Cinescape will no longer be involved in any capacity in any of my projects, ever.
My final post to the fans includes a strong encouragement to NOT subscribe to CINESCAPE and do NOT buy the magazine ever- they do not care about accuracy and any retard can send a scoop and get it posted.
In addition I will advise ALL of my colleagues in the film business that your magazine and site lacks ethics and should be avoided at all cost.
Sincerely,
Don Murphy
Producer
The link to Cinescape's article was removed from Don's post at some point.
What the hell is going on? Who knows, but on the surface it looks like Mr. Murphy intends to cut off all direct communication with the fans via his message board because of this article. I hate to throw more logs on the fire, but I thought this warranted a post.
Note - In the time I took to preview this post and check the links, Cinescape has apparently removed the article. We'll have to keep checking Don's board to see where this leads.

Wow, I'm surprised at how unsurprised this makes me. Typical unfounded arrogance of that slime-eating fatass. And all that's been said in that article is what anyone with half a wit has already gathered. He's gets angry because the "realization" did not come in the form of something he posted? [composite word including 'f*ck'] Don Murphy.
And life goes on...

Additionally I think it's good they've removed the article, showing some small bit of respect, but since the damage was already done I suppose it's not really of any consequence. I await with some interest to see if Don Murphy will reply to that.

Drat. Just got through reading through Don's ****ty board for the first time in some time. Apparently all related articles have been removed from their respective sites so now Don feels happy to post once again on his board and he's spouting he'll track the person down who did this and make them rue the day or some egotistical fluff that will of course amount to nothing. He's even gone so far as to blame a member of his beloved board of stooges, not seeming to realize anyone could hop on the site and see what's there (hi!).
The sad part is, this has not only fed this guy's ego like the three extra large pizzas he just downed filled his belly, but it's robbed the public of a monumental chance to have a historic moment by Don Murphy SHUTTING THE [composite word including 'f*ck'] UP! Bummer.

Removal of News - Threat of Lawsuit by Don Murphy - Transformers Movie Producer.
Over the last couple days, Don Murphy - Co-Producer of the upcoming Transformers live action movie - has been contacting and asking websites, Transformers related and general-movie related, to remove what he says was incorrect, false, and misconstrued quotes made by him. TFW2005.com fans have been discussing the entire matter on the 2005 Boards throughout, making comments on the movie, him, and the actual false/incorrect comments in general.
Today, Don Murphy gave an ultimatum to several fans on TFW2005.com, with the consequence of not submitting to it being a lawsuit. The ultimatum was to remove his personal comments, which were copy and pasted from his own public website, relating to the these issues. He stated quote: "You however have not only violated copyright law by posting my writings without approval (and for which I reserve all rights and remedies) you have done so with the sole intention of spreading lies and falsehoods."
I told Mr. Murphy if he would like to discuss anything related to TFW2005.com, that he can call me personally. Within minutes, he did. On the phone Mr. Murphy stated that he could not do anything about us reposting the original allegedly incorrect article, but that the copy/pasting of his comments, which came from his own public message board, were a direct violation of his rights (paraphrased). The conversation was not a friendly one in my opinion; Mr. Murphy had a very condescending tone.
Please note that in all cases where anything was copy/pasted from either Mr. Murphy's message board, or other websites, which carried the original story he was upset about, a link back to the original location was posted. This was done by general fans on this site, and by staff when commenting on it. Only snippets from both sides made it to the front page of our site, with BOTH sides of the story being presented.
In the end, the goal of this site was not to spread the misinformation of the original article, but to alert fans of an internet "broo-ha-ha" involving the producer of a movie, one that many fans have been waiting most of their adult life to come to reality. While this isn't CNN level news reporting, it is an interesting tidbit of information to chew on, which is what we all do here as fans, talk about very trivial and generally unimportant topics. Why? Because we are bored, because it's fun, because people have too much time on their hands, and because allot of us fans (myself not included) enjoy the drama found on internet forums and chat rooms.
The fact that a fan, one that volunteer's his time and efforts to this site in order to spread the "word" on Transformers in general - for free, and a regular poster, one who is just commenting on the topics at hand in an unbiased manner (providing both sides in quoted manners), and then myself, are threatened directly and indirectly with a lawsuit or possible lawsuit, by the producer of a movie in which we are constantly promoting and providing an outlet to discuss, therefore generating interest, is ABSOULUTLY REDICULOUS. (That was quite a long sentence).
On several occasions, both here and at his site, Don Murphy mentioned (paraphrasing) that he doesn't need TFW2005.com or it's fans, and that he will do whatever he can to keep us "away" from the movie. Guess what Mr. Murphy, who cares? Your complete and constant level of unprofessional conduct related to this project has alienated half the fandom, most of the fan sites that were promoting the Transformers name positively years before you even thought about this project. You bad mouth your fellow associates in the industry, and berate anyone who disagrees with you. Now you have threatened lawsuits. Well, guess what, you win.
I am removing the comments Mr. Murphy wants removed from this site. The only reason I am doing this is because regardless if we as a semi-journalistic website have the right to do what was done, or allow others to do what was done, cannot risk going into a lawsuit. The time, energy, and cash flow just fighting it is way more than I believe this situation warrants.
Personally, I will NEVER pay to see this movie. I will encourage everyone I speak with to do the same. Not while Mr. Murphy is on the project. Will my voice be heard, odds at a 99 percent chance of NO. Do I care? No. You guys can decide for yourself whether or not you want to support a movie involving people like this. It is absolutely sickening that Hasbro, Dreamworks, or Paramount would consider working with someone of this caliber. Personally I, and I think we all in the online community, have had bouts of unprofessional behavior posted in public that we regret. With Mr. Murphy, it is a non-stop event, verbally attacking and demeaning the very people that he expects to go to his films. Maybe this time will be different.
This is yet another piece of ridiculous Internet drama that I am forced to be involved in. Will what I said above piss some people off, maybe. I just don't even care anymore. If we here at TFW2005.com are going to be constantly nailed with ish talking and threats, and now lawsuits, for trying to enjoy a frikkin hobby, then so be it. All we want to do is have some fun, hang out with some people online, and occasionally talk about the best toy line EVER, Transformers. If that can't be done relatively stress free, what’s the point?
Feel free to OPENLY DISCUSS and DISAGREE with what I posted here, and if I am mistaken anywhere, to POINT it out. If you are correct, I will openly admit and retract the said statement.
Also, feel free to copy and paste this anywhere on the web you like. Thanks.

Lawsuit that, Murphy.Don Murphy, posting on his message board wrote:I am a gigantic dickhead. I get off on bullying thirteen year-olds across the internet, I'm fatter that Harry Knowles and I have a fraction of the charisma. I've already raped the [composite word including 'f*ck'] out of two successful comics and turned them into unwatchable movies and now I'm trying to do that with Transformers. Why Spielberg tolerates me on this project at all is a mystery. I am an egotistical, self-righteous, obnoxious, unpleasant prick.
Oh, and apparently I produced Natural Born Killers too. What a tosser.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Has Spielberg got a site we can go to so we can point him to all of this stuff? He has ten billion times the clout of Murphy in the industry (as do we all) - he could get the prat dumped off of the project.

Removal of News - Threat of Lawsuit by Don Murphy - Transformers Movie Producer.
Over the last couple days, Don Murphy....<article continues>...
Well put without doubt. Funny how Don gets upset about someone posting something elsewhere he posts on his public board. If his board were a private one, where one had to register to view anything (a lot of boards do that, smaller ones anyway) he might have a gripe, but he posts his vomitous **** for everyone in the world to see which makes it entirely public and free to use. The article never should have been removed from anywhere, there was no lawsuit case to begin with. But speaking on Don's egotistical (or possibly egotesticle) line of thinking, there have been several times he's posted content from private emails sent to him. Let's just try and run through the list; Ignorant, Rude, Egocentric, Awful, Assholien, Thick-headed, Shoddy *****, Conceited, Hack, Obese, Hypocritical, Racist, Liar, "Don Murphy", Overbearing, Desperate for Attention and Approval from his 'Stooges', Self-Important, [insert other appropriate derogatory adjectives]...
I wish I had my own Transformers news website. I'd dedicate a front page section to Murphy and tack every post I've put on TransFans (chalk full of his contradicting spoutings) and every time he threatened a lawsuit I'd tell him go on a diet cause the suit doesn't fit.
I think soon I'll hate Murphy almost as much as "W".

I'll sure go see it. Got nothing in perticular against Murphy. And he did apologize for that last part. Apparently he'd been trolled for days, it's understandable if you sometimes just snap.
(also, everyone needs to keep in mind what kind of environment he has to sit in, on his board)
All should be well for a little while.
Uh..so your EJ eh? I'd just like to say that the colouring you got on the castlevania comic you recently did the art for, got some really disappointing colouring. From the covers you were expecting better.

Though realistically speaking, drama influenced from Murphy's crew will entail an hour and half of Grimlock speaking stupidly and Megatron flipping backward into a tank rather than a gun.
Good for you. Way to be less than bitter about his ****ting on the TF legacy and fandom with his bs.Predabot wrote:I'll sure go see it. Got nothing in perticular against Murphy.
