Seems 3 small charges like prima charges were detonated on tube trains, and perhaps 1 on a bus.
No casulties which is good. but again mass disruption.

Bastards. Though I'm heartened by this from the BBC website:
And if he survives, I imagine the police are going to make things just a little bit difficult for him for the rest of his natural life. One person was injured at Warren Street. There were reports the injured person may have been holding a rucksack containing the detonator.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Was listening to a morning show play live feed from the BBC. Sorry to hear it. Really really sorry guys. Headcount maybe?
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Seems like just a copycat, luckily. A bad copycat at that. Someone who decided to take advantage of the situation and throw some more chaos onto the board. Like the Anthrax envelopes post 9/11.

Thank God no-one was killed. I heard about it and instantly remembered my thoughts on possible later additional bombs for cumulative terror effect that I'd posted here after the last attack.Shanti418 wrote:Seems like just a copycat, luckily. Word I'm catching is that they reckon yesterday's bombs flopped because the mix wasn't right.
They're saying it's TATP (?) which only have a finite explosive life - if it's not dried out properly it doesn't go off, and if it's left too long it doesn't go off.
Which would explain why all four of them failed.

Would it not have made more sense to question him before blasting him? I mean, they already had him down...Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:get some!
I hear they shot him 5 times after they had on the floor.

And now it turns out that they didn't........I was very uncomfortable with this when it was first reported. Its seemed unneccesarily violent, but yeah, you assume they know what they are doing. Facing someone you KNOW is a suicide bomber, well, you need to know he's staying down. fair enough....Impactor returns 2.0 wrote: besides, im sure they knew what they were doing.
But they didn't KNOW. They were SUSPICOUS. We cannot allow the police to act like that on suspicion.
Poor b*****. They were plain clothes police. I would have run off if several unidentified meatheads with guns ran at me screaming. That poor man could have been any one of us. Personally, I feel sick.
Its not like he even fitted the modus operandi of all the other bombers, who all had rucksacks. If he had a bomb under his jacket, he would probably have needed plastic explosives - none of the other men he was assumed to be connected to had used such explosives. It was all home-made.
Why was this bloke suspicious? Because he was dark skinned with a puffer-jacket on?
And people are already shrugging shoulders and just saying "tragic, but he could have been a bomber".
I feel sick.

I completely agree. What would you do If you knew you were part of a minority in a country who suffered recents attacks (by a group of insane stupids of said minority or similar in ethnic traits) and you saw a bunch of guys (in civilian) going after you?Scraplet wrote:And now it turns out that they didn't........I was very uncomfortable with this when it was first reported. Im very sorry for the ones who died. And as usual, sorry for the ones who will die, because of this.

Scotland Yard admitted Saturday that a man police officers gunned down at point-blank range in front of horrified subway passengers on Friday had nothing to do with the investigation into the bombing attacks here.
The man was identified by police as Jean Charles de Menezes, a 27-year-old Brazilian, described by officers as an electrician on his way to work. "He was not connected to incidents in central London on 21st July, 2005, in which four explosive devices were partly detonated," a police statement said.

A terrible error.
I should image that all the police etc are on edge because of recent events. And there was every chance that if the guy DID have a bomb, he might've detonated it instead of risked being caught.
And if it HAD been a bomber, all the people that are now saying the police were wrong to gun the guy down would probably be going 'Good work' instead. If he'd let a bomb off, then all those people would be complaining that the authorities didn't take enough action to prevent it.
I don't know - my opinion is so split now on how it was handled.

Looked suspicious for wearing a puffer jacket or whatever?
No.
Try "looked suspicious because he clocked that the police were watching him, legged it into a tube station, jumped the security barrier and ran down the escalator."*
You may as well shout out "Hi, police - chase me, please!"
Anybody behaving like that is going to get followed and dealt with as best-seen-fit if they can't be stopped by normal measures.
* - Which is the consistent story I have been told by certain Londoners I spoke to over the course of the weekend.
Unless he thought he was running from the mafia, dawg.
No.

Indeed. Successful scuicide bombers one week, another bunch who are on the lose but are not successful thanks to a fortuant [composite word including 'f*ck']-up. Talking to our local officers (at school) they say they did as trained. the problem with scucide bimbers, unlike the IRA, is the fact they don't care for themselves.
As detanators can be anywhere on the bomber, in a shoe, hand, pocket or even the mouth they can't take the risks they did with IRA bombers and spring the trap to catch them. The only way they can stop them is prevent them months in advance which avoiusly means they is no evidence to their guilt or kill them because the only guantee the bomb won't go off when they are caught is to kill them quickly and prevent a detantator being triggered.
