I rented out Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor for a laugh. I hadn't seen them since I was a little tyke.
What can I say?
Caravan of Courage really is quite dreadful. The thinnest of plots meandering over 90 minutes with quite rubbish effects and hokey acting.
Battle For Endor, the sequel, is significantly better, with an actual plot and more interesting characters, and is enjoyable in a naff sub-Willow sort of way.
I think if the first one had been made with the production values of the second, the pair of 'em wouldn't be as derided as much.
So, if you're suffering post-Sith withdrawal symptons, you could do a lot worse than check these out (they're available on one DVD). They're old school in a way the new prequels aren't, which adds to their (limited) charm.
Hereth ends this Public Service Announcement.

I watched IV-VI, the Bonus Features DVD, and started playing KOTOR for MY post-Sith withdrawal.

Did you play KOTOR II? How did that compare?

It's a good game, but has several big flaws.Shanti418 wrote:Did you play KOTOR II? How did that compare?
1. It's quite buggy (even with the latest patch you need to get some fixes from the Mod community)
2. Lots of content was cut out, leaving some "WTF?" moments in the story.
Basically, from what i can gather of loitering around the Mod community it seems that Lucasarts forced Obsidian (the developers) to speed the production up, so they had to cut things sharpish, unfortunately that seems to have included some QA time.
I still recommend it, there are some real nice moments in the game, but it wasn't as mind blowing as KOTOR1.

The first half of KOTOR II is superb - cannot be faulted, the next quarter is still pretty good, but the last quarter is poor - this is down to huge amount of content being cut such as Darth Sion torturing Atton to death, your companions turning on each other, the HK factory, what happens with G0-To and Bao-Dur's remote. Still I'm really looking forward to KOTOR III, cause if they can keep all the many many good aspects of this game combine it with a tighter story and tweak the few bits that didn't work the final part to wrap the story up could be awesome.

Know nothing about the games- but I will probably never watch the Battle For Endor again if I can help it!
Liked it well enough as a young'un but watched it awhile back for the first time in a long time and realized that adult me saw it as utter crap.
Was long enough ago for the initial realization to fade and I'd rather not resully the memory of the things I liked about the movie. Keep my little happy memories intact and all.
Never heard of the first one, iirc... ooh, curiousity, always curiousity.
Willow was cool. I liked Willow! That, I'd watch again.

Never seen the Ewok movies...and I don't think I want to now.
However I do play KoTOR 1 and 2 all the fecking time and love 'em. Completely agree on the hatchet-job done to the end of KoTOR 2...I felt everything was pretty much gravy story-wise up to about the 80% mark, and then it all just turned to absolute mince.
Completely gutting, esp coming from the ex-Black Isle guys. Obv it was a Lucasarts issue with rushing the product out the door, but I had so hyped myself for the game based on the excellent product the same team had previously made - Fallout 2 is probably my favourite PC game - and the first KoTOR, the crapness of the last portion of the game is entirely galling.
Luckily, the KoTOR mod community is great; their work make both games still valid regular playable experiences, and there's a team working on completing the HK factory level.
Gotta love those HKs.
Willow! That was a pretty neat film.

I know oh to well what you mean, luckiy Forza is draining my life away at the moment, I haven't even picked up Phantasy Star since I got it. (About 3 weeks I think. Now to put this into perspective, I've been playing PSO since 2001 constantly) LOL, I'm such a loserLegion wrote:ooh, don't mention KOTOR... it'll make me want to start playing again... damn it... now i want to start playing it again... bye bye life...Shanti418 wrote:and started playing KOTOR for MY post-Sith withdrawal.
