Anyone else a fan?
If I'd never seen the show, I don't know if I'd have ever been interested in TF.
If only for some SF toys and a DVD release.

Those ant drone things scared the absolute crap out of me - especially the ep where they got on board X-Bomber. And I'm guessing you fancied Commander Makara (didn't we all? She was a BAD girl).
I've got one of the two compilation videos that were released here (bloody Mon-Mons) and the Brian May 12". I made me some cool T-shirts too.

Heh, I loved this as a kid. One of my friends at university had all the episodes on tape...except the last couple
My favourite line was when Makara turned to her cringing subordinate and demanded: "Is your super-weapon ready?" and he replies: "Fiendishly so!"

I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I'm not familiar.Autobloke wrote:http://www.sfxb.co.uk/aboutshow/starfleet.html
Why does Armada Prime have a propeller on his face?
j/k, carry on.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.
I've not seen this since I was a kid - wow - it was fantastic. I'm sure Dia-X set my taste for giant robots.
The main guys had a big white wookee-type creature with them didn't they? And a princess. And there was an old bloke/mentor called Ben who died from a poisoned scratch. No Star Wars rip-offs there then....
The last episode (if my childhood memory serves me correct) was fantasic 'cos Dia-X smashed his way into the mothership of the bad guys and squished the main scumbag......however, that will be about 22 years ago, so my cildhood exitement may have overwhelmed the accuracy of those memorys.
Makes me wonder whether I would be disappointed if I saw it now. Might be best to let it stay that way and not get DVDs etc. Everytime I induge in nostalgia I end up disappointed. Bod, the Flumps, Will'o'the Wisp, TF cartoon ( )......all turned to to be awful in reality.......(BTW does anyone else think that will'o'the Wisp has some strange political agenda - when I watch it now every episode seems to say 'know your place, don't strive to better yourself, you know it'll only cause trouble....')
I mean Star Fleet was puppets - it can't look as good in reality as it is in my (probably) distorted childhood memories.......

...and a cute little droid. And they flew around in a ship that was called the X-Bomber. The X-Bomber. Like George Lucas wouldn't notice...Scraplet wrote:The main guys had a big white wookee-type creature with them didn't they? And a princess. "This ship, the X-Bomber, it wouldn't look anything like an X-Wing ripoff now, would it?"
"Oh no, George, totally different. Nothing like it."

Still not sure......'yes you are - go and do it' ......no you can't force me to ruin another childhood memory, you can't!!!......'ohyes I can'.......Autobloke wrote: So, how many people would go out and snap up a DVD set of SF if it came out today? Out of those that watched the show way back when, or those that have only just heard about it for the first time here?
Me, I'd be hobbling to the shop right now...

They have info here:
http://www.fast-rewind.com/
but no direct link to the page (it's listed in the menu on the left though).
Ah, happy days. The DVD was never released in the UK , but you can still buy it on-line for other countries.

Hmm.Legion wrote:oh god! I've not seen that film for YEARS - it was such an unashamedly blatent rip off of Star Wars - but it was quality!!!Autobloke wrote:Yep. And Starchaser: Legend of Orin. Anyone seen that?
Now, who was it that provided me with the name of that, when I was describing it in order to try to find info about it, last year?
