So I was chatting to the missus yesterday and she said that she mentioned to one of the girls who works in her pub that I got a Transformer for my birthday (Binaltech Battle Ravage for those who care, it rocks) and she was all "Wow, I love Transformers!" The missus then goes on to tell her that I post at one of those message boards on the internet (and that I've met up with one or two Transfans in the pub itself). Turns out that same girl has also posted on one of those message boards on the internet. Something about having a cat that was called Optimus Prime Rib.
...it all sounds strangely familiar...

I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

But, if you're in England, and Prime Rib's in Louisiana, that's a bit of a drive to head to the pub isn't it? Maybe I'm not reading something right.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Interesting, but what's wrong with being interested in meeting someone interested in the things that interest you?

Well hell sadie what do you expect? If a bunch of guys hear that some hot single chick works in a bar and likes a toyline from the 80's of course we're gonna be wondering whats goin on. Thats like winning the lottery.....only without all the money.saysadie wrote: I'm loving the effect in here, though: " A CHICK THAT'S INTO GEEKY THINGS! WHERE? WHERE?!?!"

I think perhaps Sadie's point is that SHE in fact is a cute geeky chick who likes 80s toys and she is in our very midst.
And if that's not her point, then it's mine. :P

Damn straight it does!Metal Vendetta wrote:Turns out that same girl has also posted on one of those message boards on the internet. Something about having a cat that was called Optimus Prime Rib.

I remember that post. Not the topic or the where or the when, or even the name, but I do remember it quite well.
Person started a "I'm new here" topic in GD, got a few replies, mentioned her cat was called OPR, got a few more replies, then just seemed to disappear off into the ether.
Might be worth doing a memberlist check to try and narrow it down a tad.

Re: Coincidence?
Having had a brief glance, the only name that seemes to stand out in any way shape or form that could be related to the OPR cat post is of someone called she_ra. But their few posts have been lost in time, so to speak. Nor does it show any location info, which wouldn't be conclusive anyway.Rebis wrote:Might be worth doing a memberlist check to try and narrow it down a tad.

Oh jesus you guys. It's nothing to defend, I don't think there's anything wrong with it... I was just saying that I loved it. You're right in everything you're saying about it, I just felt like pointing out that I found it funny.
As it is, I definitely don't so take your point and toss it. All meant nice and polite-like.
And now that Rebis has jogged my memory, I think y'all are right. This all does sound very familiar... but it's bothering me as I don't know whyyyyy. Just... something! Like having a word on the tip of your tongue.
Actually I've long wished that I'd signed up as a male when it came to messageboards. If I wanted that sort of attention, people would know it.Shanti418 wrote:I think perhaps Sadie's point is that SHE in fact is a cute geeky chick who likes 80s toys and she is in our very midst.

I used to go out with a girl that liked James Bond and Starwars, she was great and probably the best looking girl I've ever been out with.
