it just seems that alot of you are afraid to be faced with "obscenities" or anything "offensive". i agree you shouldn't be able to post porn in a cartoon/toy forum, but some of you are just way too sensititve. like that whole "buttfire" cartoon thing. grow up, no actual sensible gay person is going to get offended by something that's equivelant to something you'd see on robot chicken. for "f***'s sake" let's try to expand our minds. demand to e offended! demand your right to use your brain!"

You're going to have to ellaborate on why obscenities and offensive are put in brackets but 'sensible gay person' is not. They're both utterly subjective.

As is what you consider to be 'grown up' and 'mind expanding'.

I wasn't offended by AFAIK what was in that daft thread in Toy Discussions. I also don't believe for a nanosecond it was something that would expand my mind in any meaningful manner so in having it locked I don't exactly feel like I've been denied the works of Homer or Virgil.

To my mind growing up would mean showing respect for other people and understanding that they have a different value set from you and that does not make them wrong nor that you should automatically get your way.

Why this is upsetting I can't guess, I'd never have considered a pic of two jetfire toys touching each other's backside something of such brilliance that it demands making such a fuss over.

Yeas ago saying the word 'hell' was deemed as 'bad' but now you can easily say that word and no one bats an eyelid.

the F word is more common place before 9pm on TV now aswell, but never before 6pm I do belive? - this is cleary to protect young ppl? as if they odnt use it already, but its the context in which they do i presume?

So I guess Transfans takes a sort of pre 6pm TV guide when it comes to swearing. - I myself am offended by no word, but im sure others are offended by the 'C' word - its better that minors and ppl who are offended more easily then others see **** instead of the actually word here.

I acctually agree to some part, everything is a bit too clean in here for the most part. Even vissually, as now, the clean stylism of the board doesn't make me impressed anymore, only bored.

Hopefully when the movie comes out, there'll be an option for a new, with some advanced skinning, movie-style based skin. Wich would look extremely shiny, for us behind the 10mb connection.

It's also rather clean mind-wise here, until Snarl comes in and puts some much needed colour on the walls.

I think that we should all try to be a bit like Snarl at times. I think I'm going to try and combine some of his posting-traits with my own, and see what happens.

I could go on and on about the curse-filter, but we're all adults here, and as of yet I haven't seen the supposed 'little kiddies' that might get mentally scarred by some of the words that it blocks...

Yeah, kunta was not traditionally a pejorative. It was also pronounced with two distinct syllables.

However, "cheese" can be offensive give the right intent. If you're using terms for genitalia as insults, you might want to qualify that as "genitalia diseased due to wanton stupidity" rather than casting sweeping aspersions across anyone who has them, or explain the context at least once to each new person you call one.

I think that there are things or topics brought up on this board that wouldn't be brought up on other TF boards I visit (GD speaking).

On the other hand, I HAVE thought that the censorship of cussing seems a bit weird, considering I've gotten the idea that most people on here are 18 or over. We're not a kiddie TF site. We're a "Remember Marvel comics and when you could buy a Shockwave for twenty bucks and when we had to walk a mile in the snow to our friend's house to see the cartoons on VHS and we LIKED IT?? Those were the days!" type of site.
But I don't honestly think that having to say fricking frick or F*** instead is that big of a deal. And BF knows the demographic on here more than I, so I shall defer to him.

I DID think censoring Buttfire was a bit extreme, although at the time I didn't know if guys like Karl or Hound WERE offended, and if they were, then obviously it's great that it was locked up posthaste. I mean, for the sake of argument, if it was a Pink Jetfire that I called "Aunt Penisfire" that was grabbing a normal Jetfire's butt, would that have been banned as well?

Regardless though, if you don't like a topic because there's swearing or sex, don't click on the thread. If you DO like a topic, and you happen to find it locked one day by Best, swallow your medicine and walk away, because that's your only option.
