Servers?

What's been going on with the servers lately? Is TransFans running off a TFA server now? What's the dealy yo?

Couldn't you get through either?
I tried all day yesterday with no success. All I kept getting was 'Sorry. This site is currently unavailable'.
Even today, the only way I could get connected without getting stuck at that message, was to paste a 'reply notification' email address into my browser. Lucky I found an old one in my deleted emails bin or I'd be cursing the heavens right now.

So, what's up?

we have been changing servers - sorry for the lack of announcement - shoudl all be good now.

looks like we've no longer got our own domain name, or at least not properly.

It takes time for domain name server changes to propagate over the internet. AFAIK until it does we're using a temporary one assigned by the admins over at TFArchive.

In simplistic terms, our generous host has moved to larger premises, but it takes a while for all the road signs to be changed, so for now he's just left a "we have moved to new premises, at XXX" sign on the old premises door.

I'm still having problems connecting to here sometimes. And is the site running slightly slower than usual?

Either that or I think the PC I'm using (it's my mum's old one) is nearing the end of its useful life otherwise.

I think it's a general thing.

I managed to view 2 topics last night before my browser decided it was just going to sit there said "Loading..." for the next, well, I gave up in the end.

I also gave up yesterday.
The TFW2005 site died on me today too. It was very heavy and I was trapped for hours. I had to drink my own urine to survive. It tasted like Sugar Puffs.

Do you mean 'Transfans: The Fans' or 'Transfans: The Website'?
If you mean the second one, then I agree - I'm still having to wait sometimes up to a minute for one screen to go to the next. I hardly posted at all yesterday after the damn thing kept seizing up and then gave me 'Website Error' messages.
