America we stand as one!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Reminds me of that episode of South Park where Carman became a Christian rock star because he figured out that if you just take love songs and say "Jesus" where they say "Baby", Christians would be all over it like white on rice.

Same thing here: I don't know if you non Americans know this, but some people here are just a lliiiitttllleee overboard on their loving of America. And these people, who have flags on their cars and homes, and have red, white, and blue sticker ribbons saying "Support our Troops," or "God Bless America" also plastered all over their cars, and who call you French if you say Bush sucks, think that song kicks ass and they're probably forwarding the link to their friends and writing concerned letters to Steve Jobs asking him why iTunes doesn't carry the song, and wondering if Steve Jobs maybe just doesn't love America enough.

DISCLAIMER: No, I'm NOT saying that all people who say "Support our Troops" or display flags are patriotics assholes. Just some of them. The ratio probably differs depending on where you live.

That may be the funniest thing I've seen all day. And I have seen some funny stuff today.

Oh boy

Rock songs used to be against all things goverment or war. So it was "sticking it to the man" in the old days.
