Finally, pics of my full collection!

Post by BB Shockwave » Sun Apr 10, 2005 3:49 pm

Well, it took a while, since first, my toys were relocated, then I had to get a digital camera, and finally, the Cybertron Archive relocated leaving me with no web hosting service...

So thanks for Stormwolf for directing me to photobucket!

And now, my full G1/G2 collection... I have one BW toy, a handful of Armada and a slew of Energon, those are left out as of yet. I'll get a pic of my Knockoffs too, there are quite a few unusal items there.

Nicely done.
I'd love to take photos of my TFs, but it would take me DAYS to unpack them all and then put them back. If only I had a room to just leave them out in it wouldn't be so bad. I've got hundreds and hundreds of the buggers (been collecting since 1984), so it would be a mammoth task that I don't have time to devote to. I suppose I could always just stack up my still-boxed ones, but there's loads of them too.
I guess I'm just too lazy. If I ever win the Lottery I'd get my new servant to do the task for me.
Either way, unlike some, I LIKE seeing other TF fans' toy collections - if only just to go "Got that. And that. Don't have that. What the hell is THAT!?! (simmering jealousy)."

Heh, I don't have that problem - none of these is boxed. We beyond the Iron Curtain only started getting TFs after 1988, though toys before that year sometimes show up. That's why I have so many AMs and Micromasters...

Of course, we also had the privilage of having lots of European exclusives. Overlord is common like hell here, as are the AM Elites and exo-suits.

I only started collecting 3 years ago, prior to that I simply didn't have the money...

Cool stuff though. A lot of people hate Action Masters, but I quite liked having a comic/cartoon accurate figure of my favourite characters. I found a load of AM Bombshells on a market for £1 each - if only I'd have known that he'd become kinda rare 'cos that price was an absolute bargain! Overlord wasn't actually too common here in Britain as far as I know, although I was lucky enough to find him in a gift shop in a seaside town. I also found Fortress Maximus in the same shop for £40! If only I'd bought two (I also was restricted by cash limitations). I now live in that seaside town, not 'cos of the TFs - that shop has long since closed - but there is a good import shop about fifteen miles from me that is supposed to be getting some GF Starscreams and Primes tomorrow. Hurrah!

If I do ever get around to photographing my entire collection, Transfans will be the first place to know.
Anyway, keep it up. If I can still be collecting twenty years later with the same level of enjoyment, so can you.

I see a Series 1 Power Rangers MegaZord! Cool! I used to have all of those until I moved recently. I got a really bad price on them when I sold them - I should have put them on Ebay or something.
Is this 'Photo Bucket' thing easy to use? I could stick some of my TF photos and artwork/comicstrips on it.

Thanks for the compliment.

Photobucket is quite easy, it uses the standard web-based folder hierarchy to sort your pictures.

I sold most of my P.R. except for this, I am going to keep this particular piece.

I got rid of all my Power Rangers, Star Wars and Visionaries stuff for barely no money when I moved. Feel REALLY dumb now...

I shall check out Photobucket right now.

Don't feel like that... I too got rid of stuff I don't want even though it was not the price I wanted. However, in the end I actually made room for myself to add these in.

I also have an entire box (guesstimate of storage box size: 3ft long x 2ft high x 2ft wide) of Gundam model kits I put together and pulled apart carfefully and placed in storage, there is a good chance I might get rid of them, but it will be for pickup only locally.

Still got all my Pokemon cards - must be worth about a grand or more on the collectors market.
I've got far too many boxes of TF stuff to think about - it makes my head hurt.
Just been looking at that photobucket place - is it worth paying for? I mean, if I have the free option and I max out my allotted amount, could I just switch the pictures for other ones at a later date?

Also. I must get around to making a sig like everyone else has - I feel a bit left out. Perhaps some nice OL10 artwork...

Okay, try this:

Why is my picture so damn big?

If it is less than 250 k, your picture size almost does not matter, if it is more than that, the website auto adjust the file and image size for you.

I'll just have to experiment until I get what I want.
It's cool though - I can stick some of my artwork in it to show everyone. I used to want to be a comicbook artist or concept designer, but my drawing isn't up to those standards unfortunately. Not that it sucks. I'm a much more proficient writer though, and I use my artwork as an aid to better visualise what I'm writing about.
Still, thanks for making me aware of the Photobucket thing.

Good sets all. I'd still collect but it works out far more expensive than collecting Transformers. I'm tempted to sell my pokemon cards to buy more TF stuff, but I can't be bothered with the hassle. I might just keep them and pass them onto my grandchildren when I'm old and grey - still a long way off.

Holy crap! One of my tropical fish has just eaten one of the others while I'm sitting here. It was so quick that I didn't have a chance to react.

They've lived happily together for the last three months. Who knows what goes through the mind of a fish, eh? Perhaps it's a territory thing. Sad thing is that we only had one of the particular species that was killed, and now I'm reluctant to replace it in case that one gets scoffed too. Maybe it was ill and going to die anyway and the killer one sensed it and took pre-emptive action. Still, plenty of others left - it was just so unexpected.
Ah well.

Keep Piranhacons, Megatron recommends them!

Joke aside, most of my fish died years ago. I have a spotted catfish and an algae-eater left, those are pretty generalist fish and tolerate anything...

I've got a 120l tropical tank and a 60l coldwater one. I mix and match species for each tank and am usually very lucky with them geting along. Sometimes things just suddenly go wrong for no reason - even when two types of fish are supposed to be pals.
I'm getting tropical frogs for my big tank next week - that should make things interesting. And confuse the hell out of the fish.

Seriously, there are some fish I'd really like to have, but I don't have time to always monitor the aquariums... I rather keep Seacons.... They don't need feeding.... don't smell.-... :D

YET? You can get your hands on REAL Seacons? I want one! I always wanted a real Pikachu too, so I'd have at least ONE friend.
Actually, I'd only want him to save on the electric bills.

The place I keep my collection (www.kollecta.com) on already has big pix for 2000+ Transformers loaded... you just tick which TFs you have and that's it. Plus you can add unlimited free gallery pix of your actual collections!
