OK sadly Chelsea will get the premiership. But I think Arsenal will get 2nd place
F.A cup - A hard call, i think Arsenal are hitting top form now but it could be any of them depending how they perform on the day.
Europe - Another hard one. Chelsea have the players, the determination and a manager who knows how to win it.
Oh and for your amusement

Does it make a difference who gets second and who gets third? I mean really? They both qualify for the "Champions" League, anyway.Jetfire wrote:OK sadly Chelsea will get the premiership. But I think Arsenal will get 2nd place
Or is there a difference in the qualifying rounds? I don't know as I don't really care.
Chelsea have won the league, the only remotely interesting thing happening in the Prem is at the other end of the table.
Grrr. Argh.

I assume that's a stab at Chelsea for buying loads of players and then winning.Jetfire wrote:http://www.arsenalshorts.com/ebay_cfc_html.html
But I gotta ask; how many regular first team players in Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Liverpool are 'own products' ?
Can't believe I'm still here.

theres a difference between "creating players" and buying at stupid amounts world class just because you have more money.Obfleur wrote:I assume that's a stab at Chelsea for buying loads of players and then winning.Jetfire wrote:http://www.arsenalshorts.com/ebay_cfc_html.html

e.g Beckham is hardly a Manchester local but was created as a world class player by Man Utd thus he is a Man Utd product.
Arsenal players who came through our youth policy. First teamers or virtual first teamers this season:
Cole, Toure, Fabregas, Mathieu Flamini and Senderos, Clichy.
Others who Arsenal have taken and made world class:
Vieira, Henry, Pires, Ljungberg, Pires, Edu,
Big name players we got who were great players: Bergkamp, Campbell and Gilberto.
So only 3 of our players have been brought as big name players via money. Bergkamp had a failed few seasons, Campbell was a free transfer (though we paid him loads) and Gilberto was the most unknown player of the brazilian squad and would nbot have played in the World cup if Emerson had been fit.
I'd add in our keepers buit I'd argue Stuart Taylor has been better than both whenever he stepped in.

Yes, Arsenal clearly made Henry world class. I mean, they only bought him as a world cup winner from Juve for £10M, he was clearly ****.
Robert Pires as well. I'd never heard of him at all, he was an unknown.
At the end of the day Jets, tell me where you shop cause I'll never by grapes from that place.

I think United will win the FA cup. mainly because they can beat arse by using a bit of muscle.
Next year will be tighter, United wont have 6 weeks of non first team players to contend with, and the new faces will have settled in.
What I fear is the old faces like Keane scholes giiggs etc will be at the end of thier carrar.
Anyhows CHelski have been class, I dont like how they are doing it, but they have been pure class.
I hope to god they dont win the CL - what message does that send about football

Man Utd for the FA cup and second place in the Perm. And how about this for a sceanrio: Bolton Wanderers in the Champions League. It'll be mental (in the "What the Hell?" sense) if the Trotters gatecrashed the party.
I can see either Middlesbrough or Charlton returning to the UEFA cup if they get back to form in the final run-in.
UEFA Gate crash bonaza!

Re: End of season Football/Premiership discussion.
Not enough in my opinion, but Benetiz has changed that this season. Houllier preffered to buy crap foreign players rather than giving youth a go.Obfleur wrote:I assume that's a stab at Chelsea for buying loads of players and then winning.Jetfire wrote:http://www.arsenalshorts.com/ebay_cfc_html.html

But now we have the likes of Mellor, Warnock, Potter, Welsh, Raven, Mannix, Partridge, Smyth and Whitbread pushing for squad places.
Roughly about 13 squad players will be released from liverpool at the end of the season further enhancing the prospects for these guys.
The future is bright

No need for the sarcasm. Your anti-Arsneal bias knows no bounds.snarl wrote:Yes, Arsenal clearly made Henry world class. I mean, they only bought him as a world cup winner from Juve for £10M, he was clearly ****.

Henry was still a bench player and hardly a valible player for juve. I never claimed he wasn't 'good' but Arsenal made him World class and argueably the best in the world. Same with Pires.

ahahaahha, that's bollocks!
a) show me when I was biased. Both players were household names when you bought them, both were high profile, expensive purchases - do please stop with the claptrap. Henry was a fairly high profile failure in Italy that Juve stupidly cashed in on after 1 season.
b) Arsenal are bollocks *****.
I have no problem with Chelsea - I reckon they could have bought most fo the players they have without Roman, they just got held to ransom because money is no object to him. Their success is extremely beneficial for the national team - get terry in as England captain asap, man is quality. Also, it puts the United and Arsenal **** know nothing fans firmly in their places.

Having watched the game, it's not as it Man Utd didn't try. They just didn't know what to do.
Their current formation sucks and doesn't work. The players quickly get clueless and the old guard just doesn't have 'it' anymore. It's quite insulting you played half a sub-standard team, especially when your reserves (excluding your strikers) are utter s###.
Most of Fergies buys have been rubbish for a few years now and there doesn't seem anybody comming up through the youth team.
Ironically this loss comes a week after Utd announced that they are raising ticket prices by some 25%

Yeah you beat us twice. Once you kicked the sh## out of us and had Rooney dive like he saw a knickerless scouse grannie lying down with her legs open.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote: I think thats all utter bollox.

In the other you resorted to headbutts and we were playing Cygan.
Norwich beat you yesterday. Would you call them a better team?
As for the game analysis I wasn't being bias. I pointed out, as many Man Utd fans themselves have is the current Utd system isn't working and yesterday the Utd players went missing. I actually pointed out they weren't being lazy they just were lost because how Man Utd play doesn't work at the moment. I didn't bang on how s### Man Utd are. Though a big team losing to the bottom team is always going to cause discussion and analysis.
I mostly blame the current system fergy is trying to impose and as for your buys: Fortune, Kléberson , Veron, Millar and your keepers have been utter s### for a "top team". Can't say Saha or Smith have been good buys yet either.

It was a tight game. You really held us, we're lucky in that we have several players who can score and thus the longer 'Boro failed to score the better our chances of winning. But the Boro defenders were harsh with Reyes. Ouch.....Best First wrote:8th! tits.
****ing lucky arsenal...
Still that was our 100th goal of the season in our 500th Premiership match
