If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I have joined the cult and now come armed with a blue iPod mini.
Fear the Apple.
Damn thing is so addictive and cool, even if it did cost 2 franklins.
The iTrip alone makes the thing indispensible. No more crappy radio with 40 minute commercial breaks interspered with "music". Now I can listen to my own crappy music ad infinitum.
Or at least until the battery dies.
Most importantly, I can now be labled as hip with the times, as my life revolves solely around acceptance by a maniacal culture bent on homogenization.

Screw the iTrip. It's a weaksauce alternative to doing it right.. and it does it wrong. I don't know about Chicago, but in NY/surrounding there's so many radio stations that having one FM broadcast frequency for the iTrip never works... there's always a stronger signal coming from somewhere.
Hardwire that biznatch. What make/model/year is your car? I'll check out what that'd entail, provided you've the stock headunit. If you don't, you already know what to do
But congratulations on getting le iPod. <3 my 20gb.

Heh heh heh.
By the way, how much research did you do into portable digital music players before choosing Apple's iPod?

I can manually choose the station to broadcast on.

I used my bosses iPod a bit and loved it to pieces. After a few trips to the Best Buy to test the competitions out for myself, I found that the iPod kicks all their asses.

Do you travel moderate distances? Around here we're right in the middle of the Philly and NY areas, with the requisite stupid local stations.. pita to find a decent broadcast frequency.
