Post
by Impactor returns 2.0 » Sun Feb 13, 2005 11:34 pm
I gave up saturday, got my patchs on (the cool clear ones-yes they are cool...) and havent smoked. im not going to.
In regards, if I become foul mouthed with anyone, u have been warned.
downside, instead of smoking im eating, I atea large chips, 9 hot wings and 2 strips from KFC today, then came home and ate 2 more chicking wings, and im going to eat more...
its true, smoking makes u lose weight!
currently i feel like this.

Go Impy!
It's tough at first. I haven't had a smoke in months now.

Can't remember when I quit, though...

Tea. Lots and lots of decaf tea. Or sugar-free juice, or water, or coffee.
Actually, scratch the coffee. may not want to replace one addiction with another.

It suppresses appetite and gives your fingers/mouth something to do... but if you keep yourself from eating to occupy, you won't gain much.
Stick with it!

Heh, good one.
You could always take up chronic masturbation. Gives the hands something to do.

YAAAAAAYY! IMPY! Goggogogogo!
Thatta boy.

This thing that you have just done, it might just be the single most healthy act in your life.

I congratulate you Sir, I congratulate you.
Hang in there and take the patches and try to keep physically busy and you'll make it sooner than you think. I'd say all it takes is one month. One month for the agony to go away, and then you'll be free for the rest of your life.
I believe in you Impy, you can do it.

Trust me, the first time you get up the stairs without getting out of breath you'll realise how worth it stopping is. Your lungs will thank you. The trick that helped me with the eating thing was to lift a few weights every time I wanted a snack out of boredom, rather than reaching for some junk or other. Also, not keeping too much in the way of sweets and stuff in the house.
I will admit, I have had four or five over the last year when I've been clubbing, but I've never wanted to take it up again as a habit.

^That's the same kinda thing I've done. I've had exactly 10 cigarettes since I 'quit' several months back, and they've all been whilst drinking. I also started snacking too much, so I broke the weights out to distract me in that regard also. Gah, trying to keep fit is crap fun.
I miss cigs, but am pleased I've went from 20 a day to 4 a month.
Good luck with the non-smokage, Impy.

Didn't know you smoked in the first place, Impy, but nice job, keep up the good work, and same to the rest of you who've been trying to quit.

Best of luck to you Impmeister. Quiting can be a pain. I could use one right now. I had to go cold turkey and just throw myself into my job at the time (warehouse work) and sweat it out. The patch and gum never did anything for me. Years ago I smoked while wearing the patch.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

You can do it Impy!
Hm, maybe it's time I finally got around to stopping the nail biting. Not as dangerous a habit as smoking, but still disgusting in its own right.
