I think it's electronics-free, with more articulation and cheaper. Sort of like Bendy Prime from Armada, but with a trailer...

yeah, but if its diecast, why take GF Convoy, a brand new character that isnt so popular yet, better would be to continue the MP series with new figures we all already loveShin Getter Robo wrote:I'm more than happy to get some quality die-cast outside of the BT line.

Perhaps because continuing the Masterpiece line isn't a viable option? I'm just guessing, but I suspect that such an expensive range of figures is a bit too much of a risk for Takara to take, especially in light of their recent financial results (a simple repaint such as Magnus obviously reduces this risk somewhat).Cyclone_X wrote:yeah, but if its diecast, why take GF Convoy, a brand new character that isnt so popular yet, better would be to continue the MP series with new figures we all already loveShin Getter Robo wrote:I'm more than happy to get some quality die-cast outside of the BT line.
On the other hand, with adult collector ranges such as Soul of Chogokin riding high in Japan, a similar line is likely to be well received. I think Galaxy Convoy is a natural choice for this as his 'puzzle-former' transformation lends itself well to this type of line (as it's easier to represent the character accurately when to don't have to implement much in the way of transformation). Also, the fact Galaxy Convoy is much closer to the tradtional anime mecha than most Transformers, which undoubtedly would help his popularity.

Because it's a really funky mould? Seriously, they seem to be aiming for the uber-Convoy design this time... the line (asides from the remoulds/repaints) is interesting in ways that most of Energon and virtually all of Armada just weren't as far as I'm concerned. It's as if they've taken the Punisher character design and wedded it to Prime (the front looks really skull-like in some pics.)
I've a nasty feeling the US/Europe will receive a viciously culled line, though. There are too many large ticket items and the scale of the fiction will end up beyond anything the "line within a year" markets over here can cope with.
