Yeah, pretty much, except for having that grotesque sorta prototype 2up size. And, if I'm not entirely insane, I do believe that GF-screamer does not have a gun and a knife GF-chip gimmick activation, but rather he's got 2 knives.

I was right. Check this: http://tfkenkon.com/g/?mode=view&album= ... 00&start=0
Good ol Remy. :)

Chappie called Doctor Paragon on annuvver site listed what he thinks are the differences and a comment on the size:
Crown

Left arm weapon

Shoulder missiles

The more subtle:
Twice as many screws in the lower legs.

The feet do not have that "Tab" that connects to
the cockpit.

Pin cockpit.

Pin cockpit/codpiece cockpit/codpiece
(Hinge for said missing foot tab replacement?)

The raised designs on the shoulders are translucent.

The "Strafing guns" have small reciprocal barrels
and look like they may pivot this time.

His helmet under the crown has more detail.

No visible back assembly

Did some calculations based on the screw holes in
the leg and right elbow. He will be (if the screws
are the same as the ones the used on most current TF
product...) approximately 10 inches tall(Without his
Crown). So it looks like if this hits full
production it will be the same size as GF Convoy
and M. Megatron. The $40 size bracket.
He reckons the arm-gun will be repeated on the other side in a finished version if there is one.

Do they 'size-up' their prototypes, like in modelling?

Indeed some manufacturers do size-up their protos, or do they? I just recalled that most so-called 2ups are not even made outta plastic, but some other material. I'm guessing that it's one heck of a lot easier to do the modeling and sculpting and the like then, and later on for production utilise the amazing art of pantographing or similar to chose what size they're supposed to have.

I only learned recently of this thingie in toy-making trough the Masters Of The Universe unproduced prototypes that was shown at toyfare last year, and then reading on about them, seeing as they were bigger than the acctuall produced figures, so I can't tell you very much about it.

But not all manufacturers use them, Mattel who owns MOTU didn't use them before they hired the sculptors of the new line, the 4 horsemen. But it does make sence to use them. :) And I suspect that maybe such has been the case with Energon Megatron & Optimus Prime, as the japanese figs are alot smaller and less detailed (or so I have read), but on the other hand, may not. As the japanese figs have mold-changes too.

Transformers, with their natural complexity and number of parts, don't do 2up prototypes. If they did, we would have known about it, since Hasbro prototypes are no big secret.

'Kay, so are we thinking that it's simply that Cybertron Starscream is just gonna be big, like how E-Megs was bigger than the corresponding Superlink release?

It could be that, although I'd like to see more alterations made to Starscream, especially if he's a Supreme. For Super-class standards, he seems to be alright.

I could also see Starscream being released in two sizes, with the larger one being a collector's piece primarily. At Starscream's size, supposedly, he would be close to scale with Alternators/20th Prime.

Either way, I'd buy him.
