Arcee Alternator Pole
Post
by meiklejohn86 » Wed Sep 15, 2004 4:13 pm
This poll will let you voice your opinion on female Alternators. Have at it!
P.S. Let's assume for this poll that smaller Alternators would mean cheaper pricing, ok?

I'm not too bothered by the idea... I liked the E Arcee, if only because it was different. The female aspect's kind of annoying (robots don't need genders dammit) but they're in there, so eh.

With hip-wiggling action and a voice chip that compliments the Transfan on his handsome looks and muscular physique!
Grrr. Argh.

To be honest, it's also pretty lame that most Transformers in their robot form display aspects similar to male human anatonomy. I'm not talking about private parts, just the fact that they have two legs, two arms, a head, macho proportions etc.
As silly as the concept of a female robot, really.
And as such, I think Arcee is just a character with personality. As such, she is part of the Transformers story, and a good candidate for a toy.

Yep. Gender=lame. Except that, er... most females tend to have arms, a head, legs arms too...
The concept of gender easily makes sense out of canon. Within it though, there's just no ******' point.

I like the fact that the Alternators (with the exception of the two Decepticons) strongly resemble their G1 counterparts in highly realistic ways. It's the same reason that I strongly dislike Battle Ravage. He doesn't. Arcee was one of those lame futuristic TF:TM cars. It wouldn't be much to see if done more realistically, and it wouldn't seem quite right if they stuck her in a Mazda.

Arcee has a personality? since when? What are her defining traits then? Apart from...'appears to wear lipstick'?
Lets have an Impactor toy instead...

Not that it matters too much, probably, but I think Arcee was one of the few compassionate characters on the show.

I think we only got that perception because she was banging Daniel on the side.

I've not voted, incidentally, as there's no option for "Arcee doesn't deserve to be represented in any media, let alone as a toy, so [composite word including 'f*ck'] off with the whole notion of pink, big-breasted female robots already."

Grrr. Argh.

i like the notion of pink big breated female robots...
however it is clear to me that it belongs in an Austin Powers movie, and not Transformers.

I believe you are all taking the Transformers mythos a bit too seriously.
They are robots, and are designed by someone. Why not design a robot that looks female?
Again, I say, for that matter, why bother designing a robot that looks male. It's just silly, and none too efficient.

Existing cycles wouldn't have to be sized upwards much to fit the 1:24 scale, would they?
I'd say Arcee's defining traits range from being quite violent (Prime's Rib) to dangerously incompetent and scatterbrained (Space Pirates).

Out of interest, how exactly does one remake something that was not made in the first place?
