I haven't read the comics recently, but wasn't Ronan sort of a good guy? When last I read about him it was during all that Annihilation stuff years ago. IIRC, didn't Simon write his mini or something? Anyway, did Ronan turn evil in recent comics?

No he turned good-ish in recent comics.

Wow. This was awesome, fantastic, spectacular, funny and great. I have no complaints at all.
Loved Rocket and Groot, and Chris Pratt was phenomenal as Star-Lord! Overall a great cast
Would love to see the Guardians meet up with the Avengers somehow.

Mmhm. I've seen a little bit of criticism that Ronan was one-dimensional, but it makes a nice change to have a villain that isn't at all hammy or self-aware or playing some weird xanatos gambit [composite word including 'f*ck'] masterplan. It might seem a bit one-note, but he plays the **** out of that note.

For somebody who left Earth 20+ years ago as a nipper, Quill did well to reference Kiss Me Deadly, Raiders and the Maltese Falcon in the same breath. (hashtag stretching for things to complain about just for the sake of it because the film was brilliant and I can't be seen to like stuff)

I assumed he spent a lot of time watching movies with mom while she was in treatment.

I Finally got round to seeing this.

My faith in movies is restored, every now and then I watch something that makes me (In order) Cry, laugh, smile, be amazed. grin like child, air punch clap, want to be a star lord, actually like dave batista out side of the WWE, think of rocket raccoon in the back of TF UK, marvel at special effects in fantastic way.

The last film I came away from feeling like this was Pirates of the Caribbean, its daft, funny exciting and I want more of it.

Ive spent many years trying to work out what to Cosplay at Comic Con. - Star Lord.

That was brilliant - and my little girl can watch it too boot.

p.s. and what a soundtrack!
