I haven't even seen first two Toy Stories. :o

Has anyone else seen A Serious Man and not knowing what it's supposed to be had a big WTF at the end? The same about Book Of Eli ending? Or did you figured that one earlier? Because I apparently wasn't paying as much attention as I was supposed to.

Not seen A Serious Man yet. It wasn't even released in my local cineplex... waiting for the DVD to come down to dirt cheap. :/

Really liked The Book of Eli, didn't see that coming though.

At least I'm not touching myself while watching Toy Story. That'd make even less sense!

I probably liked the first one, I can't remember anything about the second though. So I didn't end up with much interest in the third.

The ending surprised me, too. The surprise was pleasant in that it was actually a surprise.

Saw Predators tonight.

Awful. Absolutely nothing redeemable about this flick.

I mean, if you want this movie to have echoes of the first, at least give us a cast worth viewing. How a suped up Pee Wee Herman is supposed to impress me as much as Arnold is beyond me.

The only thing I really gave a little fist pump about tonight was during the preview of Machete when I saw Frank Lapidus from Lost.

Predators was alright. Nowt special, but about as good as I expected. A vast improvement on AvP2 though. At least the plot was fairly coherent this time around.

Since I can't recall where it was mentioned, I'll mention it here...

Went and saw Sorcerer's Apprentice tonight with the boyfriend and some friends of his.

It was... very Disney. Strangely enough, I was less bothered by Nic Cage and his lack of ability to portray emotion. (though the closeup of his stonelike portrayal of "Heartbreak" made me giggle) I think Jerry Bruckheimer is his golden ticket, as the only time I seem to be able to stand him is when he's in one of his films.

Jay Baruchel was annoying as [composite word including 'f*ck'].

At the "climactic end scene", I was tempted to yell out "SCIENCE!"

The most entertaining bit of the night for me was after the movie, when the 4 of us gathered outside. We stood in a circle... and all 3 of the guys I was with immeadiately whipped out their...

mobiles to catch up on their text messaging. Bunch of girls.

See what I did there? Yeah, I know. There's something wrong with me. But I thought it was funny.

They really did that, though. With the mobiles. Funniest thing ever. If I had had the presence of mind to do so, I would have called them a bunch of girls like I had been thinking rather than just pointing out the absurdity of it.

Maybe they feel the need to check their mobiles at the first available opportunity in case some woman's sent them a message and is poised to give them **** for daring to not reply immediately?

Oh like guys don't get impatient or send those texts. :p I know for a fact that they do- I fail when it comes to returning anything half the time myself.

It's plausible. They are single, and have been for as long as I've known them but it's not like I know every intimate detail of their lives. I was enjoying assuming they were all just a bunch of chattering hens, however.

Well, I saw Inception tonight on IMAX...and it's one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

Certainly, one of the top five movies of the past decade and I'm hard pressed to come up with a psychological sci-fi thriller more gripping and beautifully rendered as this one.

Like with Prestige, Nolan has his full genius on display here, as does the cast, all of whom give four star performances. DiCaprio is gold again.

And the soundtrack? Bloody hell, they can go ahead and hand the Oscar over to them right now in that category. Talk about adding intensity! Seeing it on the enhanced audio of the IMAX theatre was riveting.

It's sure to get rave reviews from those who are able to navigate the complex plot. A lot of people left befuddled, as I don't think they are used to having to process what's going on that quickly. I'll admit, at times I felt challenged, but never overwhelmed and managed to stay afloat.

I really can't say enough about how good this movie is. It's the best movie of it's kind since Dark City and The Prestige. This is why I go to cinema. This is why I tolerate so many bad flicks, in hopes that the next Shawshank Redemption or Jaws or District 9 will come down the pike. And it certainly has come. Need to change my sig to "Inception is here".

I kind of guessed the ending and it was full of a lot of stock characters, but it was a great action film full of new ideas, which I don't say much these days.

I think that's one of the main reasons I was so fond of this film.

When you see something that isn't like anything else you've seen before, especially after you've watched sci-fi for thirty years, it's refreshing. And quite rare these days.

Problem I had with Inception was that it kept reminding me of Vanilla Sky. I don't like to be reminded of Vanilla Sky.

The little "twist?" ending was something I was expecting right from the start, though they did well to subvert it with the wife. Calling Ellen Page's character Ariadne really didn't help undercut the expectation. Though that may have been deliberate.

Good little psychological heist movie. Great effects. The old lady sat next to me had to leave after half an hour because she had no idea what was going on... her husband dutifully let her go and wait in the car whilst he watched the entire thing.

Not as good as The Prestige, though. But rewatchable.

Trying to get into the press line at Comic Con for this. So far, no such luck.

Would like to meet Stallone.

However, my bro did manage to get a spot in the Tron press line and some movie by Del Toro called Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.

So far, if all goes well, will get to meet Jeff Bridges, the hot girl in it, the annoying kid in it, and Del Toro for his movie.

Looks like we were rejected for the Expendables press line. [composite word including 'f*ck'] you, Stallone. J/K :)

Saw Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (in 3-D, of course).

Blah. A poor man's Watership Down is what this ended up being. They even tried to rip off the score in some places. Hell, the main villain even had one bum eye.

3-D was poor. This is always the case when things move too fast, like the flapping of an owls wings. That's the one thing that can kill the 3-D potential of Tron:Legacy. If things move too fast. Saw the new Tron trailer, and that's exactly what I saw. Too damn fast for 3-D.

Only thing I enjoyed was the 3-D Coyote and Road Runner short at the beginning. It was downhill from there.

The Prestige was on a few nights ago, so I watched it again.

You may damn well be right about it being as good as, if not better than, Inception. Certainly, the acting is better.

On a side note, heard some more music from Tron:Legacy:

I think the special effects and 3-D might let us down. But the music sure as hell won't.

I get the feeling Tron:Legacy's, well, legacy, will be it's soundtrack. One of the greatest I think I've ever seen put together. Whatever's happening on screen will be enhanced by the music alone.

Easy A was surprisingly good, though neither my friend or I had looked at it beforehand (was kind of a spur of the moment decision made mainly on other people going "Oh, it was good!") we enjoyed it. Bunches.

The music's all right, it's Daft Punk, but for TRON, it could really do with the hint of sadness that Wendy Carlos gave to the original score.

Hmm, perhaps it needs the addition of a moog to really capture that TRON essence.

You dodged a bullet there.

Went to see the 3D Resident Evil movie the other week - enjoyable but ultimately let down by a script that depended more on impressive set-pieces without any real coherent storyline. As the only big RD fan present (games as well as movies) I found that helped as I had a higher opinion of the movie than my three companions.

I quite liked Predators - anything with an unexpected Morpheus is awesome, obviously.

Fell asleep during Expendables. Will have to watch it again, I liked the start.

Lately I've mostly been watching classic horror with the missus. We've done The Thing, The Shining, The Wicker Man, Dawn of the Dead plus If..., O Lucky Man and the whole of The Prisoner (all originals, apart from The Thing which was the Carpenter version) recently. Also great timing because of the Gatiss horror series :)
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I'm guessing you've never seen eXistenZ, then. Or the Matrix. Or Total Recall.

Which isn't to say it wasn't good, although the clichéd ending was telegraphed from about 2 mins in.
