All I can really say is I'm glad I know the story before watching that, else I'd be quite pissed off about some of the plot point reveals...

I heard they were debating whether to change the ending to something else.
If this is true, then there is someone else out there who agrees with me.
I found the ending of Watchmen to be somewhat anticlimatic, with that huge squid creature.

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.
There was a thought to change it to just a nuclear detonation.
Which simplifies parts of the plots, but misses the entire point (ie bringing the world together after an incident involving an alien creature). If it was just a bomb, there's no reason for the US to believe it's not the Russians and to retaliate.
But then they've missed the point with pretty much every other Moore adaptation, so what the hell.

I was kind of worried by the amount of dialogue in it that wasn't in the comic... or am I remembering wrong? Anyway, I wonder how the squid thing will measure up on camera. It can't look fake. It has to look entirely alien. Hm. It could be some kind of alien bomb, but I wonder what?Brendocon wrote:New trailer!

I still feel trying to make a movie out of Watchmen is ambitious.
Some of things that make the Watchmen the success it is can only be achieved through print and introspective monologue.
Plus, I don't think the guy who directed The 300 can pull this off.
Somebody like Alex Proyas, director of Dark City and The Crow, I feel might have been a better choice.

TBH, I wasn't a huge fan of that trailer. YES that Silk Spectre is thus far horribly wooden. It gives me a more "Batman Forever" feel as opposed to "Batman Begins" in that it seems to be happening in some weird comic book world as opposed to our world. Which works fine for Sin City or something, but not Watchmen.
Not a huge fan of them calling themselves the Watchmen, but that's pretty minor, IMO.
