I'm in love with Alex. Have been ever since Moll Flanders!
Re: Midnight. A worked up mob willing to throw the Doctor out of the bus was more disturbing than any Doctor Who monster I can ever remember. I'm bored to death of RTD's detractors. A story like this goes to show he would be an asset on the writing team of any future producer.

Yes, there seems to be quite a bit of competition for DTs hand in marriage in my office.
The only solution i can think of is if we put someone even more attractive in the Who-spot.
I'm looking at you Dave.
Altho i think its probably a double bluff (altho a fun one) so we may be denied the hairiest doctor yet.
Don't like these clone rumours tho (altho they may make sense in the context of 'the threefold man') with two potential DTs running around...
clones are never good are they? Name me a good clone anyone?
Stryfe? Can't even spell (stones in glass houses there...)
Joseph? Boo.
Ben Rileigh? Argh. Altho not as argh as more recent developments i guess.
Dolly? a prematurely dead sheep.
Euan Macregor in The Island? Just a bit dull - but still not good!
No, clones are bad.

John Crichton? Or however it's spelt.Best First wrote:clones are never good are they? Name me a good clone anyone?
We've already got one clone of the Doctor running around, albeit with tits that jiggle as she runs.
Hell no.Spidey wrote:Was it the best cliffhanger, like, ever?
Repeat of last year's "deus ex machina so that none of it actually happened"?I fully expect David T to save the world next week to be honest. The main question is, how??
The way I see it, either the BBC have pulled off the greatest coup ever in recasting the role without anybody finding out (including fake pics of Tennant on set for the xmas special), or we're in for some form of cop-out. And considering the vultures masquerading as media who are usually tripping over themselves to ruin any surprise, I can't see David Tennant not being there at the end of the episode.
Wouldn't surprise me for them to "do a Farscape" and have one Doctor bugger off with Rose to Pete's Universe to live happily ever after and raise lots of jiggle-icious timebabies.

I'm thinking the Master reveal in Utopia... about to crash into a planet in Androzani Pt 3... 1st Doctor regenerates in Tenth Planet Pt 4... Dalek climbing the stairs in Remembrance Pt 1 and... no, can't think of any others. Top 5 then?Brend wrote:Hell no..
Well I didn't mind the resolution last year but I certainly wouldn't want to see it used again.Brend wrote:Repeat of last year's "deus ex machina so that none of it actually happened"?.
Ah, right. Best Who cliffhanger ever. Because it's not even the best tv cliffhanger I've seen in the last month... although the delay between episodes of BSG does a lot to enhance that one.spiderfrommars wrote:Spidey wrote:Was it the best cliffhanger, like, ever?I'm thinking the Master reveal in Utopia... about to crash into a planet in Androzani Pt 3... 1st Doctor regenerates in Tenth Planet Pt 4... The knowledge that there's no way Tennant's not going to be the Doctor this time next week does a bit to undermine the end of The Stolen Earth. Same for the imminent deaths of all the supporting cast... if I believed for a second that they'd actually kill of SJS, Gwen and Ianto, then yeah, awesome... but as it stands, there wasn't really a lot of dramatic tension there for me.
Still has me quite excited for the next bit though, so it's done its job. It's a "how are they going to get round this then" cliffhanger, as opposed to the "what the hell is going to happen next" kind that Galactica relentlessly serves up.
He's been zapped by Daleks before and not needed to regenerate.
This time the 'glow' was only to his upper body and on his left side. Perhaps the regeneration will only be so far as to repair the cells in his body.
Perhaps his time as the Time Vortex has altered to some extent what it means to regenerate and a clue to that being the resurrection of Jenny without regeneration.
Or, as Brend said, cop-out.
Also, isn't K9 the most faithful companion. Of the Doctor, at least...

I just took that as being the whole "first X hours of lifespan" loophole, as per Tennant's hand growing back in The Christmas Invasion.Rebis wrote:Perhaps his time as the Time Vortex has altered to some extent what it means to regenerate and a clue to that being the resurrection of Jenny without regeneration.

BSG and Lost have had some amazing cliffhangers, but they're often lessened by the fact that they're not resolved for possibly years(!). A DW cliffhanger is resolved the next week which adds to the excitement. Well mine anyway.Brendocon wrote:

My god i think i would have exploded if they had doen that.
What i love most tho is...
my housemates love it!

There is so much Who love!
Blah Blah Russel T Davies Rubbish blah blah - everyone loves it! **** off!
ok, not everyone. And consensus is no measure of quality. But it was fun to say.

But yeah, with virtually only Corrie and Eastenders more popular here theres a lot more than just the fans to cater to. Its quite mad to think BSG only gets about 2 million viewers in its own country and DW gets 7-8 million here.

Great fun. Even if DoctorDonna was irritating as hell. Jackie Tyler taking the piss made up for it, though.
Quality ending. I nearly thought about welling up. And it means no more Tate. Like, ever. I hope.
Grrr. Argh.
Aye, enjoyed that. And much like Brend, I considered welling up at the end....that Bernard Cribbins bloke is ace!
Did I miss the bit where the cause / point / relevance of the Torchwood 'time bubble' (or whatever it was that happened in Torchwood HQ) was explained?
Looks like we have Martha and Mickey/Rickey (whatever! I can't remember which he is!) as the new Torchwood members. Cool
And K9 should have been in it more.

Very cluttered. But gotta say, it looked like it cost a zillion pounds to make.
Rose's exit was WTF and perfectly logical at the same time. Donna's exit, rather poignant I thought.
Having German Daleks was pretty twisted.

Apparently it was something Tosh had been working on.Scraplet wrote:

I do think the time bubble was a bit of a cop-out.
"Hrm, let's get them out of their cliffhanger through deus ex machina... then they'll basically just have to sit around waiting for another one to actually get them out properly. But at least it saves us from having to think up a subplot for them until they're needed a bit later on."
As Cliffy said at the Archive, Gallifreyan justice = aces.
"Commited genocide? Here, have a happily-ever-after with the jigglacious blonde."
Obviously there's a "using it as an excuse" subtext, but I like to take things at face value for comedic effect.

They just make it up as they go along dont they? - I did enjoy last nights episode but the way they just make up plot devices at every given second ruins it for me.
Assistant: "Were all going to die from weapon X!"
Dr "(delete where applicable) Dont worry, I just installed these weapon X shields! / I Just remebered how to stop weapon X! / I Have met a race that knows how to stop weapon X! "
Thundercats thundertank ahoy...
Take last night, 'Whatever' women gets hit by Davross, thus activating the Dr's mind in her... how convienent, heaven forbid it might harm her and all, she then gos on to flip some switchs which deactivates all the Darleks etc... hmm, how convienent, has no one ever done this before?...
why didnt I think of flipping flipping random switchs before to defeat this evil race? oh because shes half human, and we think up **** like this? oh please!
Also, why on earth would the Darleks want to destroy everything in the known universe (actually all Universes for that matter) what would they do then, just sit there and do nothing? without anything left to duff up in the universe thier existance would be pretty pointless. all thos fancy space ships, pointless, no where to go. Weapons, pointless, no one to kill etc... it gos on, and on...
Ok, maybe its just me, maybe im missing the entire point that the plot lines are supposed to be GCSE like, the special effects utter turd, and the puppets look like somthing from the 1960's erm Dr Who or somthing?
And Rose, sort your eyebrows out!
Rose said she escaped her universe by using some sort of universe escaping device, cant they just use it again?
