Now this happened in a public area (50+ people around), in theory blanketed by CCTV. Guess what? The CCTV doesn't cover that particular area, and the ONLY witness they got a statement from was a tourist who's now gone home to Spain.
So it comes down to 'Mr Lynch- do you have eyes in the back of your head, since the kid claims that somebody else smacked you in the back and then punched you in the lip?'
Strangely enough I don't. They asked me to attend an ID parade. Sadly the kid didn't turn up for his video (that's how they do it now) so they used his arrest photo mixed in with a bunch of others. Imagine a photo the size of my avatar here blown up on a large TV. Now considering I had only a glance after turning round before being hit and then (naturally) turning away and considering this happened THREE months ago, I didn't have a f****** prayer.
So, as far as I understand it, despite this happening in the most public place possible and being about as open and shut as one could hope... nothing will be done. After it having consumed three month's worth of police work and my time in giving statements, attending parades, going to the station etc.
See I can sympathise with the police investigating it, they've worked hard, but there is something fundamentally wrong where you can be publicly assaulted in front of a crowd at a bus station blanketted by CCTV and nothing can be done to the little psycho in question because of a lack of evidence.
I'd like to know what went wrong here but I just can't put my finger on it

I'm very concerned. The police told me the child and his brood are well-known trouble makers. They had no compunction about what they did to me (which was as much humiliating as anything else). They're going to try this again, sooner or later. I just hope it's not me.
