It makes up for all the truly rubbish ones you played against to qualify!Shanti418 wrote:I'm not saying we suck, I'm just saying we got a bad draw and have to play some tough teams.

The US do have a bit of an unfair advantage, regionally, don't they?
I mean think about what'll happen when the EU becomes the inevitable superstate.
Our qualifying group's gonna be:
- Europe
- Switzerland
- The Faroe Islands
- Vatican City
- Norway
- Monaco
- Rockall
We could always grant independence to The Channel Islands and The Outer Hebrides...

man i was off my little tits when i posted that last night. Wona pub quiz though - £3 prize money. get in. £3 entry fee as well mind.
we were, of course, only **** up to the 83rd minute.
to be honest there was some ok performances, Terry was great, A.Cole looked better, J. Cole worked hard.
But Lamps, Crouch and Owen were all guff and guess who all the scoring chances went to. I think he was right to leave crouch on though.
Oh, and Rio was shocking going forward. Shocking i tell you. Peter Crouch should pull his hair.
Argentina look like sure fire winners at the moment to be honest.

I dunno. That was a stupid tackle, but I think this ref is a total tool!
Ive got 5 live on and the TV on mute. Waddle said about 5 mins before Mastroni got sent that the ref was going to red card an American to 'even it up', only he said he thought the ref would give Pope a second yellow whenever he could. Well, he's done that now anyway...
9 men now for the States.

Brazil always starts to play "good" a while after they are classified. They tend to protect they play/players in the initial matches.
Maybe because they always find it logical that they will pass.

Brazil coasted for the Croatia game, that holds water, they never looked like conceeding.
Australia on the other hand really were very unfortunate not to score AT LEAST 1 goal.
Now, whether Brazil could have upped the tempo and regained the lead had the Aussies equalised is another thing to ponder. I think it plausible the Australia could have held had they got a goal. I'd argue that had they equalised and Brazil felt the need to step it up, Australia would have been slightly more likely to score again.
All ifs and buts though.
Based on that performance, Brazil are some distance from looking a side that can retain the World Cup. They are playing within themselves, but whilst England are doing that and not looking like conceding, Brazil look very fragile at the back, bar Lucio - who also got properly done by Viduka on more than one occasion.

They have always had a decent squads tho? - they under achive .. early days still thoGetaway wrote:...who go on to win 3-1 and it could have been much more, they will do much better this time round. Just look at their squad it probably has the most depth of quality of any team other than Argentina and perhaps ourselves.

I ******* hate the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
They have a big ass headline saying "HERE ARE THE PICTURES THAT ENGLAND DOESN'T WANNA SEE"
The headline sounds like they have found pictures of Lampard raping a baby, and in the backgound of the picture you can vaguely see Gerrard having sex with Sven-Göran.
But... no, it's just a bunch of crappy pictures.
"THE MIND GAMES HAVE STARTED" is the next sentence.
Here are the pictures.
Oh ****, better look out England! Our mind games have totally made your players cry.
I think England - Sweden will end in a draw.
