Vatican urges Boycott of DaVinci Code

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

That was Opus III, impy.

Bald woman, blue strobing lights.

Why don't Wall's Magnum bars come in Opus flavour?

I can't be arsed to read this topic but, can I urge you all to Boycott the DaVinci Code because the 1st half of the movie is among the worst film making in cinema history.

The second half is technically just as bad except it has a really superb peformance from Magneto. But even then Macellen had to turn it into a comedy to save this peice of crap. Thank God for the new Superman and Pirates Trailer that were shown otherwise it's would have been a total waste of 3 hours of my life.

I disagree, good sir.

The film was slowish, but I liked the shots. I found McKellen a bit annoying, really, and I used to be a great fan.

I don't feel the movie was that disappointing really.

I wasn't going to see it, but if it's pissing off this many people it must be good. Apparently Jesus married an ex-whore. "Let's burn Tom hanks alive!" You thought John Lennon's "bigger than Jesus" comment was bad? You ain't seen ****! Ron Howard says Jesus married a whore?! Let's burn the freckles from his face! He must pay!!!    Hilarious!

I like what they suggest in the book and the movie because it seems fairly plausible.

It's not like they claim that Jesus was an alien, or was God himself or anything.

They suggest that Jesus was a man, plain and simply. He would still be a strong source of inspiration to many.

I like that story much more than the one in the Bible.

But that's my personal opinion.

Old Ian.M made a classic statement.

He said he didnt see the problem with Jesus having a child...the church should be happy...at least hes not gay!

Pissed myself laughing.

The thing is the story's been around for centuries...I just wish it could have been told a bit better in this instance, rather than in a badly-paced thriller.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

That would make for a very entertaining public statement.

Mormons have believed Jesus was married since 1839...

(Brigham Young was convinced he was polygamous. Mary and Martha.)

I have no comment on these allegations, this book or the Roman Catholic church at this time. I will in due course be issuing a statement through my lawyers. No further questions.

Oh, and could everyone just try and be nice to each other for once...please? It's not too much to ask is it?
