Battlestar Galactica

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Friend of mine gets back from the States tomorrow. He's carried with him a request to get season 2 for me whilst he's there.

Gonna have to be all polite and **** and wait until Saturday before I ask him about it, though.

Wish I'd been less dismissive of this earlier.

Season 2 is much more of a mixed z bag than season 1 a lot more poor/average episodes mixed in with the superb ones. The big mid season three parter with the Pegasus was nice though

I've seen 4 episodes of series 2 so far and it is gripping.

Easily one of the best things on TV.

And Impy, I believe the term you are looking for is 'fracking',not freaking :D

yeah actually i agree with that, the hand design is nifty but to be honest they don't actually look as good as the old ones somehow.

shame as the rest of the cgi is great.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Question: at the end of the mini-series, Adama gets a note saying that there are only 12 Cylon models. Who did he get that from? Did I miss something or is it connected with future plots (I'm up to 2nd episode of the 2nd season)?

I really like this series more and more, though it sometimes bugs me when cool stuff happens, but it doesn't make sense at the time (like aforementioned Six Degrees... - I mean, it's very good, but how the hell did she do that?). Whihc isn't bad, as long as it's explained at some later point.

I've just assumed it was Baltar... didn't Number Six tell him that? And he could hardly go up to Adama and tell him, given the circumstances. Ergo, anonymous notage.

Where did you order it from matey?

I can't handle the week wait between episodes on SKY, yet it gives me something to look forward to in my generally dull existance

The 12 models of cylon thing was done by Baltar, the word cylon was written in Boomers locker by ... Boxey. If you watch all the deleted scenes in the first series it gives you loads of info that didn't make it into the show such as the original war on Kobol, the nature of the gods, the cylon plan and loads of stuff with Boxey where he is actually rather cool.

Whoa, avoiding spoilers in here is an art!

Finally caught up with the miniseries. Watched it in one sitting too. How was this originally presented?

I kinda wish there were more robotic looking Cylons tho.

Great acting. Mary McDonnell is a legend.

Number 6 over Starbuck anyday. The latter is a bit too butch for my tastes.

Really highlights how the recent star trek stuff had gone up its own arse.

star treks formula for the succesfull TNG didnt change through DS9 ,Voy and finnalt Enterprise, by then the concept was old hat.

Alot modern TV series follow somthing akin to BG, its far more mature in its direction and concept, whats odd, is that when you look back Babylon 5 seems quite similar.

Id like to see a new Star Trek, more mature, more BG, more,,,,, well better...
