Since I'm currently sick as hell and rewatching the series, I got curious to see if anything was happening.

The link in the second article to "fans distrust Underhill" doesn't come up, or at least it didn't for me. Maybe the movie's site is already down. Seems odd yet also could be good. The idea that a show could run completely without network support is really interesting. But since Whedon seems to be a very traditional Hollywood guy in his business sense, I don't see him going for it.
[edit] Here's something else I think has also been posted: Joss saying, in contrast to the above, that he would like to continue it. I think the EW article is more recent, though. Dang.
