Well, he did ditch the green puffy-jacket for a yellow shirt during Furmans run.Manchester Devil wrote: Where's the jacket for that matter?

For the most part, it's not a bad picture. The only things I really disagree with is (A) no green tunic and (B) the weird can-shaped mouth. I think they're trying to evoke some kind of gas mask canister look, but I had really gotten used to seeing him with orc teeth.

(Just got back from Iraq. Yes, it sucked. Exterminatus recommended.)

There's no character to it - it's as humourless as the Minion version. The original design had bags of personality - big ol' teeth and vents, emotive eyebrows and chunky horns; it was a cartoon design, but an effective one.
That looks like one of the Combine out of Half-Life 2. But crap. And even the Minion version had tusks of some kind.

There just nothing DH about it. No similar face, no similar head, no similar body, no similar accessories (thinking shield and stuff rather than bling), no similar colours, nothing...
It's just nothing like DH... and i can't really see much similarity with DHII either.
If that is to be the new DH, then DH is truely dead.

Acctually, I think it's even more humourless, don't you think? The Minion version atleast had some colour-variation.Death's Head wrote:There's no character to it - it's as humourless as the Minion version.
It looks like it came straight out of Matrix. It's like many have said, a talented design, but not for a comic-character wich one could read an ongoing comic with. Looks more like some sort of attack-droid, meant for mass-production really.
I think it could be a rather sufficient minion for "the bad guy".
The coming months will be very interesting, to see the development of this. Is it Death's Head or not? Only time, and Joe Quesada can tell.
Yeah, its not much to go on is it?Legion wrote:and there the similarity between DHII and 4 billion other comic book characters ends...Scraplet wrote:Standard comic book muscle-bound humanoid body, 'dreadlocks'...Legion wrote:... and i can't really see much similarity with DHII either.
However, I'm struggling to think of any other charaters with dreadlocks, or (as in DH2 case) appendages that give the impression of Dreadlocks. Other than Predator.

The captain of the mothership Starscreanm/warworld blows up had a quite cool design. Pity we see him for what, two panels? (if it was Star wars, the guy would have 2 books written about him...)Rebis wrote:In a word, no.
There's a Cybertronian with DH2-style horns, but for the most part, all the cables are firmly attached at both ends and set close to the body.
Next thing, you'll be telling us Wreck-Gar had three appendages located around his mouth.

Found out some little goss about DHIII at the weekend, direct from 2 Marvel writers. Of course, that doesn't actually mean it was straight up, but it was fun to hear this stuff from them anyway. They said:
DH III will def be in-continuity to previous Death's Head stories and is a new form for the original character, although apparently Furman is trying to tie everything previous together in the backstory/genesis of this new form, presumably including DH II, as...
the story will feature A.I.M. as bad guys. ALthough it was not said they are the bad guys of the story. The strip art is apparently excellent, and they were both very positive about the project.
Also was told that the old Marvel Death's Head promotional costume was measured and fitted for Bryan Hitch and it was actually him in the suit at those old promos.
I think I've heard that before, now I think about it. Perhaps from someone here...
