Ways that Religion affects the Lives on the Non Religious?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Too lazy to read all the posts in this topic (which should tell you my opinion on religion), so I'll just step in here and complain that religion has no real value as far as I can see. And it ruins Sunday morning telly.
And before someone jumps in to say that having faith gives them the strength to continue in this dark world we currently live in, if there's a God, why's it so dark in the first place?
How about we have faith in OURSELVES? Stop pouring cash into this giant war-causing fiction and use the cash for better things than paying for priests to have sex with children.
The only good thing to EVER come out of religion was the TV show Father Ted - and that's 'cos it's closer to the truth than we probably think.
Faith is just an excuse to never have to produce proof that 'God' exists.
And frankly, if I'm wrong and by some miracle ( ) I got to Heaven, I'd scarper quick 'cos living with God sounds about as fun as staying with boring relatives.
At least you can probably have deviant sex in Hell.
