It's by bloody Platinum Games! And looks to be quite faithful to the original.
No doubt with crazy japanese hijinks as well, but hey, that's part of the charm, yeah?
Now, the only problem is that the last PG -game that was a licensed property, was sadly not that good, I hear... the Legend of Korra game. Could this be equally rubbish...? I'm hoping not!
It would be neat if there were modding-tools for the PC btw... it would then be possible to do some recreations of the comic-book storylines - which would be neat, to say the least.
EDIT: Well, the IGN-interview sounds decent - the Platinum lads appear to be right proper fans, and I do know that Andy Schmidt isn't a hack when it comes to writing.
Apparently the storyline is that the Earth is being Cyber-formed, in a process similar to what we saw in G2 - except this time we don't know what's causing it... (I'm guessing it'll be G1 Cartoon-related tho', so most likely the Key to Vector Sigma, yaddda, yadda - you know.) Prime and Megs obviously gets in a fisticuffs about whether to stop this or not.

Re: Transformers Devastation by Activison and PLATINUM GAMES
The wife imported this for me for Christmas. I'm loving it. So random, too. It was like, "Oh, by the way, Platinum Games is doing a G1 video game with all/most of the surviving voice actors. Enjoy."
