I'm cleaning out my apartment in advance of moving in the next month or so. One of the things I sold was a stripped down Brave Maximus body. I started the bidding at a dollar, but (since it's a VERY heavy toy) the shipping was at $125. I even apologized for the high shipping cost in the body of the auction.

In fairness to myself, shipping the thing to anywhere outside of Japan would have been MORE than $125.

So, the auction ends (at a dollar) and I send out a payment request.

Nothing.

A week goes by and I decide to just get my fees back.

Literally hours before I can close the case, I get a message from the buyer. It basically says that he's not going to pay because shipping is too high. He thought the $125 was "just an estimate."

So, I close the case and get my fees back.

Moments later, the guy leave me a neutral feedback. He also sent me this message:

Already reported him for harassment. Any other suggestions?

Jeez, he was in Japan for a long time. AD 200-2003. You'd think he would have learned to appreciate the culture.

Post it on every TF board you can think of to tell others not to deal with this guy.

Since he won the auction, I've got pretty much all of his info.

Beyond asking all the other sellers I know not to sell to him, I'm planning on posting that picture, along with his full name, pretty much everywhere. I'd like it to follow him for the rest of his life.

Think it should make its way to his employer?

I honestly do wonder what's wrong with people: be careful what you write as sooner or later it might become public! I learnt this back when I was about 14 and a love-letter I wrote a guy I fancied made it into the hands of the faculty - how can Internet users in this day and age still not get it? I mean we all wig-out and sometimes say regretful things (Christ knows I have, on this board alone!) but to actually go off on a multi-paragraph racist rant really plays into the maxim "a body doesn't need to be stupid to be racist but it helps".

Yeah. Haven't been in touch much since the government crackdown, though. Still, aside from making fun of the guy over a few bottles of sake or shochu, I doubt they'd do anything. And besides, I'm upset at the dude, but not upset enough to ask yakuza for a favor.
