MP Megatron

Post by Hook2 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:56 pm

Megs is my fav character. And in my search to attain a g1 type figure, I am considering Masterpiece megatron. But I've read that it's very difficult to transform and that it's easy to break. If this is the case, can someone let me know? Because I also like the United classics repaint just fine and would buy it instead if this is true of the MP.

Thanks.

I've stayed away from it, Doc. :D And my collection is pretty large.

I've read the horror stories about breakage, random rust... and aside from all of that, I don't think it looks good aesthetically.

Now my taste may be different than yours- I love Masterpiece Convoy and grimlock, but I never bought Screamer, because I thought it looked terrible. And I think Megatron looks worse.

Get FP Protector and Classic Hot Rod instead.
For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.

This is a toy/collectables discussion. And so, to a toy/collectables forum it shall go!

The first time you try it, the transformation is incredibly difficult. I've never noticed any rust or breakage, though. If you're gonna get one, then do it soon. The prices will shoot up again once the stock of the latest reissue runs dry.

I own one. I've never regretted a purchase as much as buying that cheaply-made mess. Stay away from it and buy the Classics mold instead.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered United Megs today. I think the anorexic legs on the Mp were the clench. And I kept reading reviews saying that pieces would break off easily. Ouch! That for 150.00!
