Classics Starscream Cracking

Post by Hot Shot » Tue May 20, 2008 9:45 pm

I was transforming my Classics Skywarp today and a piece on the vertical tail wing (where the horizontal tail wing attaches) broke off. I checked the other side and it has a crack running through it. I also checked my Starscream and it was cracked on one side, as well as my dad's. I checked another C. Starscream we had in pieces and it was cracked on both sides, too.

Apparently, every time the Horizontal fin is moved a lot of force is put on the plastic by the ends of the pin running through it. This causes cracking that eventually leads to a piece of plastic breaking off.

I figure the best way to prevent it is to knock out the pin, remove the tail fin, and file around the area where it attaches.

I'm going to have to buy a new Skywarp now, so I suggest everyone fixes their Classics Seekers before this happens to anyone else.

EDIT: To clarify, this is happening to the straight repaints of Starscream. Ramjet, Dirge, and Thrust are safe.
