KO Micromaster-sized G1 Constructicons

Post by BB Shockwave » Thu Nov 22, 2007 5:43 pm

I have been looking for these cute little G1 KOs for a long, long time, and I finally found them at the chinese market a few days ago. :) I bought all the gestalts (they were dirt cheap): Devastator, Superion, Defensor, Bruticus (in Ruination colors), Menasor (with two Technobots as limbs), Liokaiser (Hellbat oddly became a mini-Doubledealer) and a mini Fort Max. :)

These are truly tiny. About half the size of the originals, thus, an individual combiner limb is really micromaster-sized. Although there has been some dumbing down of toy functions due to the size-down, they are of remarkably good quality as far as chinese KOs go. You should consider them scale-modells, assembled roughly, some trimming with a scapel and the apply of nail polish is sometimes needed.

Devastator is one of the best of these. Not only does he come with all the main parts of the gestalt, additional handguns for Hook, Bonecrusher and Long Haul are included, as are the drill-rockets for the fists and Mixmaster's dual rocket. The toys are simplyfied, and some of them now have green chestplates instead of purple, but the primary transformations work the same - Bonecrusher is for example, not changed at all! Long Haul's fist are molded to his arms now, and Scavenger's feet do not rotate, but that's pretty much all the changes.

I took detailed comparison pics of each toy, will post those soon, but first a few funnies. :)

Just picked up some bootleg G1 predacons here in Buenos Aires.

Must stop buying knockoff TFs.

Bootleg PredsM ? Man, I've been looking for those for ages now. How much do they cost? I have all five Predacons now but buying the parts for them would cost a fortune, and I don't often see those parts for trade anywhere. I was planning on buying the KOs for parts, but shipping from Malaysia costs a lot...

Eh, these are really crappy versions...no original parts (some really bad non-tf weapons) and flimsy day-glo plastic. I just bought 'em to have a play around with the moulds, there's no point getting them for parts.
