Interesting Knockoff Jetfire/Valkyrie

Post by BB Shockwave » Sun Oct 01, 2006 3:23 pm

A friend of mine bought not one, but two of these cool KO Jetfires on the flea market and he sold one to me...

The toy is as large as the original, has die-cast parts, spring-loaded landing gears and the plastic is not that bad for a KO. It's primary silver with blue paint and "Griffin System" stickers, plus a strange emblem on the shoulder. None of the two had any armor pieces so I guess they were sold without those...

What I find interesting is that such die-cast KOs are not made today, thus I recon these are older toys, the quality reminds me of the likes of Shackwave or the grey Galaxy Gun Shockwave KOs. But while those KOs are pretty common, I never saw this toy before. Anyone knows what it is or who made it? There is only a 'Made in China' label on them...

It's from this Galaxy Defenders (something like that) toyline that only makes knockoffs of several robot toy lines, including GaoGaiGar, Power Rangers, and a few TFs as well. For the most part, all the molds are recolored with the same color scheme you see on this Jetfire here.

I just found a boxed one on German Ebay, confirming what you said about it's origins!

Well Original ones are unheard of here in Hungary too... :) That's why I have this instead of Jetfire and a Galaxy Gun instead of Shockwave.
