Unless you can explain to me how a scantily clad girl being eaten by a monster is pornographic (which is a different word to disgusting) then what I said still stands, surely?

Pornographic = Sexually explicit material (dictionary.com)
Sexually explicit = " (video, photography, creative writing) [which] presents sexual content without deliberately obscuring or censoring it. The term sexually explicit media is often used as euphemism for pornography. It includes unsimulated sex acts, sexual intercourse and uncovered genitalia." (wikipedia.org)

Whether it's tasteful or not is a different argument, and not one I commented on.

First, define what you mean by "eaten".

Secondly, haven't we Americans taught you anything? Blatant, disgusting, gory violence is perfectly OK, as long as no one shows any naughty bits!

I dont think there is a pornography issue but a problem involving how they use their characters in obviosuly vicious situations.

My comment went on how a masturbating scene would be more vile or disgusting for the property than the scenes we ve seen so far in the manga. Or the difference is that they werent official? So explicit sex is worse than explicit dismemberment of a minor.

About the only serious thing I've contributed to this discussion (as personally I find the subject funny more than I do offensive) is the implication that strange eroticism also happens in the west. Casual mass generalisations of the nature "the Japanese are all represed perverts" sound rather hypocritical when you consider this hemisphere gave the world furry cosplay and scatophilia.

I was working under the assumption that dubious or possibly tasteless situations are going to be a little bit less of an instant nono than pornography. Hence TFErotica being closed and this not, it's rather more of a grey area.
