Do you rename TFs?

Post by Neo Challenger » Wed Jul 14, 2004 9:14 pm

:?: I was wondering how many of you renamed some of your TFs. For example, if you have G1 Prowl, RID Prowl, and Energon Prowl, do you make up new names for the RID and Energon Prowls?

Personally, I do, as well as new names and stories for transforming toys I "adopt", such as Gradion from Webdiver or the VF-1S Valkyrie I have. So let's hear about it!

Nope, I don't play with my toys, so I have no need to. Only ones I call by a different name on occasion are ones like Rodimus Major (HOT ROD, dammit!) and Silverstreak I call BLUEstreak as there was no SILVERstreak in G1.

I put a Spittor in a Barbie dress and I call it Maryanne.

No, I have no idea why. I've just been calling it that for about three years now... It's my Robot in Disguise. :p Strangely, I just think of it as "Spittor in a Barbie dress" half the time now. Calling it Maryanne lost it's charm awhile back...

That's the only one I've renamed, asides from cutting names short (ie. calling Scorponok "Scorpy")

same as wierdy - i just use the old names where the reissue has lost the rights to the names.

i do spend a lot of time randomly making up TF names tho - not for TF's, in case i ever get around to the fanfics i'm laways meaning to do.

I got both Armada and Energon Jetfire. One of them's gotta be Skyfire now.

Oh, you bet I do!

I've got everything from G1 to Energon out on the floor right now, and use a weird mixture of names.

For example, I use the seeker names for the Armada seekers, because the originals are put away (no sense wrecking them, when the A seekers are more durable and cooler anyway). However, I call U.Ramjet "Cloudburst", since I also don't use my Pretenders.

I call Combat Hero Megatron 'Spearhead', RiD Onslaught "Ambush" and I've renamed almost all my beasts (which are a third faction). I use the names of BM guys as they are for the most part, but not always. PLX Hotshot is 'Joyride', Blurr is 'Wastegate', A. Smokescreen is 'Hauler' and A. Prime is 'Longbox'. However, the A.Decepticons have their names intact, except cyclonus who I call 'Downwash'. Nemisis Prime is called 'Shadowbox' (he's a dark Longbox, get it??), and there are too many others to go into.

I have to have a big list with everything on it...
