I've heard it said on a few places that the Cybertron version of Vector Prime is slightly different than the Galaxy Force version. Apparently the Cybertron one is supposed to be crappy for some reason? Smaller in size/bigger and hence less detail?
Exactly what is the nature of these differences?

difference? they're both ugly, one looks like a KO, the other like a cheap KO (you know, the big robots with little transformation sequences and look like some kind of knight)

Cybertron Vector Prime.
Okay, just bought a Cybertron Vector Prime and I'm a little disappointed.
I suppose that if I'd not been aware of the possibility of changes from the Takara version, I'd have been a happy camper.
That said, there are really annoying faults with the Cybertron one - I don't know if these are things that the Japanese version suffered too, so I'll just tell it how it is.
First though, those kind Hasbro people seem to have used the Japanese toy photos for the box and leaflet, so we can all see what a munter's job they've made of the version we in the West are getting in comparison.
I've took a few pics of my figure so you can see what I'm on about.
Although the photos on the box look like they've been jazzed up a bit in some kind of paint program, there are some features that will instantly jump out at you (stand back).
First, VP is now white - oh so very white. This means that you can't see any of the nice 'cog' sculpting on his body, which is a shame. I'm going to do an ink wash on mine to pick up the details a little.
Next, all that nice burgundy has been changed to a nasty brown - which you'll also notice has been missed off completely from his wings, which make them rather dull-looking.
While we're on the subect of the wings, mine are very loose where they connect to the body, and the clear blue part is made of that horrible rubbery plastic stuff (I'm assuming that they were normal clear blue plastic before). This rubber also doesn't fold down well for when transforming the figure.
And as I'm currently dumping on that rubbery plastic, as was feared, the sword IS made of it too now - and is VERY bendy. Most annoying though, it won't fit in VP's hand without really forcing it into the hole. Of course, then it's a sod to get back out again.
To continue that theme, the hole connector on the mini-con seems to be too small as well, as I struggled to fit it on any of the pegs. Worst of all was the cockpit peg in vehicle mode - I really had trouble getting the mini back off. And be careful - those pegs can break, or you can damage the hole.
Probably one of the biggest crimes is with Vector Prime's 'Cyber Planet Key' - it has no gold paint detail at all! This is especially annoying when the back of the box displays the fully painted Japanese Force Chip so promenently. If that wasn't bad enough, my key is VERY wobbly in its mount - it actually fell out while I was transforming him.
I had a look at the code printed on the back of the key that everybody has been talking about (it's 'v38g' on Vector Prime, by the way) - the box states that will reveal 'more info' at transformers.com. Can't wait to see what excitement THAT will be . Okay, just entered the code and got some crappy tiny photo of the back of the Japanese Vector Prime's box. Thanks for that, Hasbro.
You should go and have a look at the stop-motion animation done with the new toys at this site though - that's quite amusing, in a special school sort of way.
And that about tops it all off.
I'm sure as other people get a Cybertron Vector Prime - especially those who also have the Japanese version - we'll hear of even more crimes against Transformersdom.
I'd also like to complain about the boxes - the fronts get pushed in all too easily.
Okay, it sounds like I really hate this guy - but if I was just a normal TF fan who didn't have access to pictures and information about the original version, I'd be pretty happy with my purchase.
I just hope that there's a better version (ie. more like the Takara one) in the future - or a better UK version when it gets released over here properly. I'm trying to get my hands on a Japanese one though, to see what goodness I missed out on.
This isn't really a toy review as such - just me having a moan as usual. You Mods can move it to the reveiws if you want to though, to warn of Hasbro crapness.
