Yea, this is complete balls. I mean, Wheelie? Are they seroius? And while Kup was a cool characte, his transformation and toy are boring, boring, boring. I mean, Blurr or Scourge would have been soo much cooler. I don't want to buy a toy that I can remember being bored with as a kid!!!

You're right, Hound: I WOULD rather have a crappy little Nebulon than Wheelie.
I don't think they'll ever release the Dinobots. I can't see them releasing just one (except of course the Grimster), and I can't see them getting 5 seperate releases or one big release, a la the Predaking reissue.
I mean, is the purpose of TFC to release old popular characters in pristine condition (Megatron, Skids, Astrotrain), or to release old, obscure character repaints like Soundblaster/Riccochet (sp, I know)?

I just can't help but think, that from a business point of view at least, there is potentially a hell of a lot of money that could be made from rereleasing the Dinobots. They were clearly some of the best G1 toys and are still incredibly popular characters.
So I will never rule it out on that point alone.
I guess that Takara has to pad the line out with the odd piece of crud to sustain interest in the line by not releasing all the good figures at the start..
and I think Rodimus will be next..

If Blurr ever was released, he should be BOTH normalG1 AND a Targetmaster. He could have his Nebulan and original gun, plus a little plug-in adapter so he can hold his smaller original gun. That'd be something new, and avoid them releasing two versions of him and screwing us over at a later date.Denyer wrote:Who reckons Blurr will arrive at some point, though?
If/when Takara get around to Dinobots, they'll have to ditch the current box size. Wouldn't entirely rule out a box set, if the Predaking set sold. And it did as far as I recall.
Also, the guy that owns the import shop I go to had loads of Predakings at £120 a go - they sold unbelievably well. He only has one left now, I think.
I couldn't afford to buy one.
Sorry to rain on everyones parade, but I'm sure the Dinobots were originally made by a Mexican company and then Tak/Has made them in much the same way as the Deluxe Insecticons, Jetfire and Shockwave I believe (Correct me if any of those points are wrong)
But if I'm right and for once I'm sure I am, no Dino's. Swoop would be SWEET! I'd actually break my no more TF's rule to get him.

I'm fairly certain that the original Dinobots were originally made by Takara as part of the Diaclone line. There were versions in Mexico that used similar molds, but these were simply knockoffs from the mid-80's.Darth Aux wrote:Sorry to rain on everyones parade, but I'm sure the Dinobots were originally made by a Mexican company and then Tak/Has made them in much the same way as the Deluxe Insecticons, Jetfire and Shockwave I believe (Correct me if any of those points are wrong)

Different colorscheme? Uh...that's about it. I haven't bothered with many of the reissues to begin with so I'll have no trouble passing this one up.BB Shockwave wrote:Speaking of Predaking, and looking at your sign, Prof, bigislandtoys sells loose ones for only 15$... Why bother with a reissue?

Really? Haven't noticed the color difference... what exactly? Though I'd be happy to even have a full predaking, not to bother with a reissue. I only have a loose Rampage so far.Professor Smooth wrote:Different colorscheme? Uh...that's about it. The Dinobots were already reissued in the Classic Heroes line and in Generation 2—it likely wouldn't make a shred of difference even if you were correct...Darth Aux wrote:But if I'm right and for once I'm sure I am, no Dino's.

Yup. It's like the BBC's reissues of Doctor Who on DVD. Classics interspaced with the dross. It's a long term business to maximise the whole line hence no "Genesis of the Daleks", "Seeds of doom", "Survival", "Inferno" etc.Hound wrote:
