None of my favorite gestalts are from TF. The coolest one I've ever seen (and now own) is Brave Great Goldran. Made by Takara, but not a TF. It's absolutely beautiful, highly detailed, HUGE, and fun to transform. Each individual componant is quite impressive on its own (in both modes), it has combining within the combiners (two of the three mergers combine with their own smaller robots), and if you only have two of the three mergers, they can still combine with the central merger. Plus, he launches something like two dozen missiles at high speeds from various parts of his body. I can't recommend this guy enough.

I always liked Computron because a) I like the kinda burgundy colour that's so prevalent on him and b) the idea of a bunch of neurotic/daydreamer/techy/combat-casualties being slapped into battle by the Transformers equivalent of R.Lee Ermey is ace.

As long as we're talking non-TFs, I always liked this one:

Dancouga is so huge he's like $200, so I would never get one or have anywhere to put it if I did, but I still like it.

Computron. I always liked the colour scheme, and it was a very cool robot.

That being said, I bought all 6 Energon Protectobots today, and they`re very high on the list too now.

My personal Fave from TF is Railracer, hands down.

He's fairly poseable, has a cool jet pack, good looking hands and a cool, SPT-Layznerish face.

I wanted him for a long time, and finally got one. He's on display now, with Shockwave (G1) and Flint (the 1985 Joe) - three toys it took me forever to get.

As for non TFs, I was wondering if anyone would mention Dancougar.

That think is just awesome. I wish I had one. The show rocked too.

TF's I've always had a soft spot for G1 Defensor, even though Groove ruins the whole thing. Maybe I'll get 2 Streetwise' and paint one as a fire chief.

Non TF, I only ever owned the Big black torso cat but I always liked Voltron.
